Re: Florida Gators
2008: "A Big Deal"
Before the 2008 Florida–Georgia game, both coaches repeatedly stated that the previous year's incident would have no bearing on the contest. Florida coach Urban Meyer went so far as to issue a gag order to his players, instructing them not to talk about the 2007 game with the media.[56] In his authorized biography, published following the season, Meyer said: "That wasn't right. It was a bad deal. It will forever be in the mind of Urban Meyer and in the mind of our football team. We'll handle it, and it's going to be a big deal."[57]
Coming into the game, the Bulldogs and Gators were both ranked in the top-10, and the winner would have the inside track in the SEC Eastern Division race and a possible shot at a national title. Some commentators went so far as to call it the biggest match-up in the history of the series,[58] or at least the previous 20 years.[59] After the Bulldogs missed two field goals and failed to recover an onside kick after their first score, the Gators took a 14–3 halftime lead. In the second half, the Bulldogs turned the ball over four times and the Gators turned the game into a 49–10 rout. Tim Tebow accounted for five touchdowns and Percy Harvin added a pair of scores in the Bulldogs' second worst loss of the series (the Bulldogs lost 47–7 to the 1996 Gators).[60]
In a move widely assumed to be a response to the Bulldogs' endzone celebration of the previous year, Meyer used both of his remaining timeouts with less than a minute to play, giving his team and their fans more time to celebrate the victory and prolonging the painful loss for Georgia players and fans.[60] After the game, he broke his pre-game silence on the 2007 celebration. "Was it motivation for our players? Yeah, it was. Losing doesn't sit well with our players, and it was the only rivalry game we lost last year."[61]

Re: Florida Gators
I think 49-10 and 41-17 settled that up. Last year went to OT, sooooooooo why are we talking about 4 seasons ago? Let's just see how these pups roll over and discuss that. Nevermind. That would require an actual Turd to show up and discuss. GG is too nice, and well, Rat, while you are certainly a Turd, you are not a Gay-Turd.

Nice? DDAL still has some claws.
As for the endzone thing, I didn't make a fuss of it then and still don't now. It was added flavor for the rivalry just has Meyer's late TO's were the following year.
I have the billboard ready when UF makes it 4 in a row.

Our 3 consecutive week losing streak comes to an end tomorrow. Our D is taking the Joshua approach - The only winning move is not to play.

Was gonna ask how y'all would do against "bye".
F is just snake bit right now. Perhaps GA will be good for what ails you.

UGA may run the table in the East and thereby earn the right to get destroyed in Atlanta.

Re: Florida Gators
The week has arrived. The St Johns still flows from south to north, ergo Georgia still sucks. Even if it still puts us in danger of going to Atlanta, we want this game.

Don't worry. You will get it. T-Minus 5 days until the billboard goes up...

Re: Florida Gators
I like UGA this go round - even with the curse and all that.
They are better at QB and that means a lot.

Re: Florida Gators
Brantley is playing according to reports. Murray has been having a sophmore slump. His turnovers are up and he's missing a lot on the flag routes, deep posts and hitch and goes. I see this game as another coulda, woulda, shoulda game for Georgia.
Look, at the end of the day, I think Georgia is better this year and should win. I also want to see Mark Richt shake off his doldrums and get back to being the class of the East and one of the best coaches in the league. The problem is Georgia is inconsistent, maddeningly stupid, and often ill prepared. That is All Coaching. I also don't like our 6th choice numbskull of a DC. Man I wish Smart, Chavis, or Diaz would have taken the job. Ultimately, I am not convinced CMR can get it done regardless of how much I want him to win and for our program to become relevant again.
If he loses this Florida game, then I am not sure he can survive.

Re: Florida Gators
Having Brantley back would help = though with the way UF is 'reporting' injury status this year I'm a bit skeptical = the harsh fact remains that the OLine started the year soft and keeps getting weaker. If the running game is the same it has been the last month, Richt is going to have to get creative in finding a way to blow this opportunity.
Re: Florida Gators
They seem to find new ways to lose every week. Lord knows they did everything they could to let Vandy beat them, but Vandy is Vandy, afterall.

Re: Florida Gators
I think SoCar will be okay without Lattimore, and wins the East.

I think LSU nips Bama in a heartbreaker. LSU to NC game. Bama to the Sugar.
