That GG kid who decommitted from Carolina and went to South Carolina instead seems to be pretty good. We coulda used him this year...

I don't even know what a two piece is, but I like it. What does the guy say at the 1:10 mark? "Until somebody gives him a two piece with a biscuit and a Fanta"?

The fact is, we really weren't that good last year, we just got hot at the right time and also won some very close games in the tourny that could've easily gone the other way (UCLA and Duke) which would've completely changed the fan perception of this year's team. We also blew like a 30 point lead against Baylor (with a bunch of help from the refs, but still) and needed OT to get to the Sweet 16, where it took a miracle save of a ball going out of bounds by Bacot, who somehow slung it to Love at the 3 point line, who then hit the 3 against UCLA. Then the Duke player misses 2 free throws very late in the game that would've definitely changed the trajectory of that game.

Everything went right for us at the end of last year and yes, something like that doesn't just happen, we've got talent of course, you don't get to Carolina without having talent, but we definitely weren't dominant (to say the least) last year so I don't know why our fans, myself included, expected us to magically become some kind of unstoppable juggernaut this year.

I will say I have been disappointed with some of our losses where it seemed like we were sleepwalking and not really trying, but games like yesterday are going to be the norm this year. We've got to be playing really well to beat good or even decent teams, b/c we just aren't the kind of team that can overwhelm anybody. But by the same token, just like last year, if we're playing well we can beat anybody...

That’s a very reasonable post, hedge. But I’m not a reasonable Carolina Basketball fan. This isn’t shitass Carolina football. We returned a veteran, experienced roster that virtually everyone had preseason #1, not just us crazy Heels fanatics. Five fucking losses before New Year’s?! Even last year’s rocky start was 10-4 at this point in the season.

Did you watch Bacot’s postgame interview? I think he’s fed up with Caleb Love’s sulking ass. He only seems to play hard when things are going his way — or he’s bricking 36 shot attempts.

" Five fucking losses before New Year’s?!"

Yep, and could've lost to Michigan or OSU. But also could've beaten Pitt, Bama and maybe Iowa State. We've got the talent to turn it on and beat anybody we play. Or rather, we've got the talent to beat anybody, but do we have the desire to turn it on. That's what seems to be lacking so far this year. It took K's final home game to finally get them cranked up last year and then, obviously, in the tourny it's win or go home, so they played hungry in all those games. Not sure what it's going to take to light a fire under their asses this year, but if and when it happens, I like our chances against anybody. But if that doesn't happen, anybody can beat us. This team isn't 2009 UNC who could sleepwalk thru a game and still win, but then again, that team didn't sleepwalk thru any games. Maybe that was the difference, Hanbrough wasn't going to put up with that kind of shit...

LOL, the blurb on the channel guide says "Louisville and #19 Kentucky write another chapter in one of college basketball's fiercest rivalries. The Wildcats lead the series 37-17." Um....

Oh I know. The only bowl games that aren't glorified spring games are on tonight.
