In fairness, we didn't look great against an 0-3 Gardner Webb. Had a double digit lead in the second half and should've stepped on their necks, but they had cut it to 4 with 4 minutes left and we only won by 6. That's too close for comfort, esp. against a team like that. On the bright side, Pete Nance is good. Legit 6'11", can run court, hit 3's and rebound. He had 16 in the first half last night. Encouraging...

We've got James Madison on Sunday, they're 4-0 so far this year, averaging 105 points per game. This should be fun...

They beat some team, UVF (no idea who that is) 123-38. UVF sucks (again, no idea who that is, but I know they suck)...

Hubert is going to run the starters into the ground by playing them so much, but he has no choice because the team refuses to take less talented teams seriously.

They've been reading their own headlines and believing that they can just roll out and dominate. I am less than thrilled with the team so far...

I had hopes for Styles, but he’s got hands of stone. Instead of embracing a junkyard dog role like David Noel, he’s floating on the perimeter bricking threes. So, Dontrez’s ass was on the bench with the ultimate slap in the face. Instead of Styles, Hubert put in that bug-eyed Virginia reject-retard, McKoy, when Nance fouled out. That’s when Gardner Webb sensed blood in the water. GW fans probably had flashbacks to beating Billy Clyde in Rupp.

Heh. Just saw UC lost to NKU. I think it's this early winter blast.

We don’t beat Baylor without Styles, but I have wondered if that has affected his mentality and made him think he and his stone hands need to sit on the wing instead of attack…

DS — We need Puff and Jalen to get healthy so we don’t have to play these suspect bench guys.

Yeah, Noel is pretty much who I had in mind as a comparison. Of course Noel didn't really contribute until he was a senior. Well, I mean, yeah, he did contribute, but his senior season is what forever enshrined him in the hearts of Carolina fans. He's up there with George Lynch as one of the alltime UNC "leaders," and one of the main reasons that despite a not so great overall record and a second round loss in the tourny, that 2006 season is one of my favorite UNC seasons ever...

Puff is always battling some sort of injury. I think he's just that type of kid who will never reach his potential due to being injury prone, and Jalen's high school injury history makes me fear the same applies for him. Even when Jalen gets healthy, I can't imagine him being ready for this level of competition.

Agree about Jalen. Hope we're wrong. If he could be close to Isiah Hicks level by his junior and senior years I'd be thrilled. Don't see him being much better than that (if he even achieves that) but again, I'd be happy to be wrong...

I would kill to have Hicks or Meeks on this team...

I think that the 4 out / 1 in offense is superior for the purposes of the modern game, but I also think it's problematic in NCAA tournament game because you rely so heavily on the outside shot. One off night and you're done, unlike a seven game series that allows for an off night.
