Not caring about politics but would anyone consider Paul as a VP?

I don't see that happening. It would be of little gain to the guys running. No way he and Romney would be able to work together on anything and I don't know if Paul's appearance on the ticket will help as much to be worth the trouble.

Super PACs

Now I see I'm in the wrong business:
The campaign transferred Mr. Gingrich $88,000 last month for unspecified “travel” expenses, a pace far higher than he paid himself over the course of 2011, a federal report filed Monday showed. It was part of $220,000 in mystery money that month that went to people close to Mr. Gingrich on top of their salaries, raising the issue of potential self-dealing.

A separate disclosure Monday showed that Becky Burkett, a former top official of a nonprofit Mr. Gingrich headed who now runs a pro-Gingrich super PAC called Winning Our Future, paid herself $220,000 in donated money last month — making more in 20 days than any other super PAC official has made in total since the groups exploded onto the scene, a review by The Times showed.

Super PAC spokesman Rick Tyler said the payments compensated her for November, December and part of January. The fund brought in its first donation Dec. 7. Although that rate puts the Gingrich confidante on pace for an annual salary in the millions, Mr. Tyler noted that political work isn’t assured.

“In this business, we all could be out of a job next — you just don’t know,” he said. “People make more knowing that this could be a short-term contract.”

Among several other staffers, Gregg Phillips also received $90,000 in January.

Good luck with that. Funny thing is, there are probably a few of the Anonymous group that work for the government in the I.T. section but know all the ins and outs of what the government would look for and therefore easier to stay...well....Anonymous.

We accidentally burn a Koran.

They retaliate by killing two of our soldiers.

We apologize.

We're so fucked up

I just read something that insinuated Ron Paul has a deal with Mitt with regard to Rand. That seems more plausible.

I love reading his stuff, although my bread gets buttered by the industry he attacks. Still, it's awesome.

Public apology by the President himself over an accidental burning of a few Korans, but no public condemnation over the irrational response of killing two American soldiers...

But I guess we had it coming.

if he cuts a deal to get Rand something out of this, I'm not sure that will sit too well with his faithful.

I agree no way Romney can go with Paul as a V.P., but Rand is just a more well versed version of his father.

I also read that is why Ron Paul will never run independent in 2012. Doesn't want to ruin the future public aspirations of his son.

Everyone here knows I'm no big fan of Wall Street. Wall Street, Fed, and Treasury have too incestuous of a relationship. I don't fault the system per se because the President can control this by his appointments. Unfortunately, we haven't had Presidents, lately, who are intelligent in this area and they have been exploited. I, too, don't know what the big banks are whining about because Dodd-Frank will help them in the long run. It will strengthen the big banks by making it very difficult for small to midsize banks to afford compliance. There will be consolidation, bigs will again be too big to fail, making it impossible politically to avoid a bailout. I would be ok with Dodd-Frank if there was a lower level of compliance for smaller institutions.

Add a fourth prong to the evil trifecture, Warren Buffett. Of course he supports the current administration. He has already profited from Goldman and BofA very nicely, helped by the backing of the American taxpayer. It's not just those two. He has large holdings in Wells, US Bancorp, M&T, American Express, etc. Having an administration that is not pro-bailout is his financial enemy.

I said at the start I knew my position wasn't defensible. It's just what I believe.

Certainly good kids can come from a same sex marriage just as bad kids come from traditional marriages. I just believe that a balance of influences is what is best for a child. A child needs a father and a mother.

Code: Select all

CHEYENNE — State representatives on Friday advanced legislation to launch a study into what Wyoming should do in the event of a complete economic or political collapse in the United States.

House Bill 85 passed on first reading by a voice vote. It would create a state-run government continuity task force, which would study and prepare Wyoming for potential catastrophes, from disruptions in food and energy supplies to a complete meltdown of the federal government.

The task force would look at the feasibility of

Wyoming issuing its own alternative currency, if needed.[
ok I can see that

Code: Select all

And House members approved an amendment Friday by state Rep. Kermit Brown, R-Laramie, to have the task force also examine conditions under which Wyoming would need to implement its own military draft,
makes sense

Code: Select all

 raise a standing army,
yep

Code: Select all

 and acquire strike aircraft
...eh well..ok

Code: Select all

and an aircraft carrier.
oh for fucks sake! Wyoming? Really?
