Barnes was 4-5 from behind the arc, but 5-12 overall. So he was 1-7 on non 3-point shots. He needs to quit thinking he's much more than a 3 point shooter or the occasional open court dunker...

Great game, Holes. Seriously, that was pretty entertaining. Yes, that was a walk by Teague with a second left -- no idea why it wasn't called, other than the 24,000 lynch mob that would have formed on the court for the ref that called it.

Goldie's breakdown of UNC-UK talent was remarkably spot-on, I confess. Though I'd say Henson not equal to Davis, just more experienced; Davis much more talented. Same regarding Miller-Hairston -- Miller more experienced, Hairston more talented, but at this point I'd call them equal. Also, and I can't believe I'm saying this, but Jones may be more of an all-around player than Barnes at this point. Shocking. LMAO --- seriously, LMMFAO -- at Zeller equal to Vargas.

I'm not frustrated by the loss, but rather the fact that Henson ends up taking the shot at the end. REALLY?? I think Roy should have called a timeout to set something up. They were in a position to win the game and that's the shot you get? *shaking my head*...

At least they showed the ability to hit threes. If Bullock and Hairston can be consistent, that's huge.

Indeed. Nothing like checking the message board and seeing 5 new pages of posts for Ostensibly Hoops and seeing its 90% goldie's illiterate bullshit to skip over.

Lol@goldie

At least the next few games, UNC will be playing weak teams to build them up again.

I"m thrilled that we won given Carolina was on fire with 3 point shots. That means our front court was dominating the game which is exactly what we wanted to see.

This season is already a disappointment I dont mind losing this game but coupled with a loss to UNLV, they only two things that can save this season is 16-0 and the very week ACC and cutting the next down the nets the first Monday in April.

i'm fairly shocked that we won while being outscored by 21 points from deep...if i'd somehow known that pre-game, i would be considerably poorer right now

goldie, the most egregious call i can remember is the charge on lamb drawn by a bunny-hopping zeller

close that was the second worse call of the night but the worse call was the Whitler travel and then the non call on the Henson dunk at the end of the half was bad as well, any ohter point in the half that is called but the refs did not want to call that with no time left

From IC:

"It's the first time the two schools have met this highly ranked since Dec. 26, 1981 in East Rutherford, N.J., when Michael Jordan, James Worthy and Sam Perkins combined for 66 points in North Carolina's 82-69 victory.

Kentucky standout Sam Bowie didn't play in that game because of a stress fracture in his left leg, but that game still featured 18 draft picks -- including five that went in the first two rounds. The NBA draft was 10 rounds until 1984."
