This mornings' "this is it" moment for the Today show/CNN/MSNBC was squashed by voters in NC, dist. 9 on Tuesday...oh well.

Yep, huge victory. A district that has gone repub for our entire lifetime and that Trump won by double digits came down to the wire for the repub candidate. That should have you really fired up about next year...

NC-9 doesn't just include some of NC's strongest Republican areas outside of the mountains, it was gerrymandered to pull in even more Republican votes. The fact that the Democratic candidate was that competitive in an off-year election -- which means lower turnout from the Democratic base -- in that district is nothing short of astonishing.
The Democratic Party is more than happy to screw this up thanks to the northeastern and west coast liberal set. We don't have a DLC to moderate things and ensure a moderate candidate. So, the Democrats could really screw up and lose the WH again while making gains in the Senate, House and at state levels with Blue Dogs. In fact, that's what I'm predicting.

If Democrats lose to Trump with someone viewed as ultra-liberal and Roy Cooper wins re-election in NC, watch out for Cooper in 2024.
He's a white, moderate, business-friendly, Southern Democrat who can raise money from all sides.
(Assuming Primaries Are Held in the Current Order)
He will start in Iowa, which is similar to the area from which Cooper hails (Eastern NC) in terms of a heavy ag economy. Cooper will be able to connect there.
Then, New Hampshire is anyone's guess. As long as he doesn't end up lower than second or third, he's fine.
After that, we have SC, and he should do fine there given the fact that he's from the neighboring state.
So, he's at least 1/3 with two good finishes and possibly 2/3 with another good finish.
That lines him up for Super Tuesday.
Alabama
Arkansas
California
Colorado
Democrats Abroad
Maine
Massachusetts
Minnesota
North Carolina
Oklahoma
Tennessee
Texas
Utah
Vermont
Virginia
He can win NC, VA, AL, AR, MN (similar to Iowa in some regards) OK and TX.
-----
Cooper will have plenty of campaign cash to use as "seed money."
However, there is talk/expectation he might run for Burr's seat in 2022. I wish he would run for President if Trump wins.

I wish you would run for the seat of the electric chair, but the juice that would be needed to zap you would probably shut down the electrical grid...

It’s sad to see Democrats turn on each other.
In this case, I happen to agree with DS. If the Democrats had the sense to nominate a non-lunatic DLC-type, he/she would probably beat Trump in the general. (Biden in his prime would be the perfect guy to accomplish that, but he clearly is well into his dotage.)
But so far they seem determined to nominate a socialist, Trump investigation/impeachment frenzied, open borders, intersectionality/victimization/reparations, medicare for all, beef-banning, gas engine abolishing, pro-infanticide, gun confiscating, anti-Semitic wackadoodle. If that happens, get ready for 1972 version 2.0.

“Play the radio. Make sure the television — excuse me, make sure you have the record player on at night, the phone — make sure that kids hear words, a kid coming from a very poor school — a very poor background will hear 4 million words fewer spoken by the time they get there,” Biden said, before being cut off.

A-
Beto: "...if it's a weapon that's designed to kill people on a battlefield. If the high impact, high velocity round shreds everything inside of your body. ... When we see that being used against children." Brilliant. So I guess Beto will confiscate Civil War muzzle loaders and WWI bolt actions. But he will graciously allow "low impact, low velocity rounds" that can't hurt anything.
That's like the Prohibitionists saying they only want to prohibit that rare form of alcohol that can get you drunk, but they'll leave the rest alone.
What a blithering idiot.

Yes, the ideal challenger to Pussygrabber would be a Medicare-for-all-including-illegal-immigrants student-loan-forgiving open-border gun-grabbing socialist.
But you're gonna get Uncle Joe instead. And even if he rivals Dotard wrt dotage, the simple fact that he's not a lying crook and a giant racist asshole should carry him to a comfortable victory. Even you hardcore trumptards like Uncle Joe (way down in the recesses of your hard black hearts).

The only reason I like Joe, a little bit, is because he is relatively sane. This is true even in this, his early stages of Alzheimer’s. This one small thing he has got going for him may not be much, but it is something that not a single other Democrat candidate has.
BTW, when you referred to a “pussygrabber” were you referring to Bill Clinton, who raped one woman (Juanita Broderick), groped a unwelcoming grieving widow (Kathleen Wiley), used his position of power over a barely adult intern (Monica Lewinsky) in the Oval Office, and lied about it under oath, and whom you voted for twice?

"used his position of power over a barely adult intern (Monica Lewinsky)"
Barely adult? She was like 25 years old. Give me a break, she loved the fact that she was giving the president of the United States blowjobs in the Oval office. Perk of the job. But irregardless, don't try to pull some "she was barely an adult" bullshit, she was well into her 20's, she knew what the fuck she was doing...

And Bill Clinton didn't even fuck her. And still got impeached by the GOP. Nowadays a WH intern could be a russkie agent who gives golden showers to the prez and deposits her 6 figure paychecks in a Cyprus bank and the dems would STILL dick around worried about opinion polls.

The MSM already tried and failed once to use fairy tales to take out Justice Kavanaugh They just tried and failed again. The NYT:
"Editors' Note: An earlier version of this article, which was adapted from a forthcoming book, did not include one element of the book's account regarding an assertion by a Yale classmate that friends of Brett Kavanaugh pushed his penis into the hand of a female student at a drunken dorm party. The book reports that the female student declined to be interviewed and friends say that she does not recall the incident. That information has been added to the article."
And some people wonder why 77% of Americans say the MSM reports fake news.

Donald J. Trump

@realDonaldTrump
The Fake News is saying that I am willing to meet with Iran, “No Conditions.” That is an incorrect statement (as usual!).
And all morning long the Fake News is showing montages of Trump offering to meet Iran with no conditions. Pompeo and Mnuchin quoting the president too.
13,000+ lies since the inauguration seems like a lot but if you break it down into lies-per-day the number is a lot smaller. Of course if you figure waking hours, that number jumps up as well. Waking hours and non-golfing hours minus shower time and meals - that's like a lie every 25 minutes. Do your numbers match, prof?
