you'd think they vet a little better....then again....

An NBC medical expert who was brought on air nearly a dozen times to detail his struggle with COVID-19 never had the virus, he revealed this week.

After believing he had the coronavirus in spite of getting negative tests, virologist and NBC News science contributor Dr. Joseph Fair tweeted Tuesday that he had tested negative for the antibodies and that the illness that hospitalized him in May “remains an undiagnosed mystery.” Steve Krakauer

I started feeling a little shitty around the middle of the week, just basic cold symptoms but of course I thought maybe it was the covid. The MIF works at the local health dept, they see covid cases pretty much every day, so I'm definitely in a high risk situation, but she hasn't been too worried about it, she's convinced if you take enough vitamin D you won't catch anything. Anyway, it's started to fade now, so maybe it was just a summer cold...

They're showing some speech by Biden, I guess it's from a few days ago, they haven't shown the audience yet, I don't even know if there's anybody there, but there are damn sure some birds there b/c they haven't stopped tweeting the whole time. Where the hell is he? In some high school gym that the roof caved in a couple decades ago?? I mean, you can barely hear what he's saying for the tweeting...

It was in Scranton, his former home town, in some warehouse. Look at the end for the size of the crowd. If you’re going to be this protective, why bother traveling up there?

Why didn't they move those steps behind the podium? They kept distracting me the whole time, I couldn't even pay attention to what Biden was saying. Oh, wait....

Romney said commuting the sentence of Roger Stone is unprecedented.

Dubya pardoned Scooter Libby for leaking Valerie Plame
George H pardoned like 5 guys for Iran Contra
Clinton pardoned Susan McDougal who was offered a reduced sentence if she would testify against him and refused.

what is common to all 3 is that they felt the investigation tied to their presidency (or their predecessor) was unwarranted.
In the case of the 3 above - all had pretty clear cut crimes laid out in the public eye

For Trump, the Russian investigation turned up nothing and Stone, Flynn and a handful of other people are all casualties of that investigation that resulted in a big goose egg for the Democrats.

I suspect he pardoned Roger Stone because at the moment its probably the least impact to the November election while still insuring he has the power should he lose to take care of a guy who went down protecting Trump in what Trump deems a witch hunt.

An argument can be made whether its right or not, but to argue its unprecedented is invalid, and its simply political grandstanding by Romney who believes his only shot at the presidency is trying to win favor with the Trump malcontents.

interesting graphic

as the number of tests increase, the % of positive tests for Covid-19 stays the same.

One could argue that Covid-19 isn't any more prevalent now than it was 2 months ago in the general population

but the number of hospital beds consumed, not necessarily deaths at this point, are rising.
