I actually do remember that one. We were coming off a natty and had added Stackhouse, Rasheed and McGinnis, seemed like we were a shoe-in for the FF (and probably repeat) that year and then got bumped in the second round by BC. First time we hadn't at least made it to the Sweet 16 in many years. There were signs throughout the season that that team had some chemistry issues (jealousy of Stack and Rasheed by the upperclassmen b/c they were clearly far superior players). That was tough, but we did make it to the FF in 3 of the next 4 years, so that kinda soothed the burn...

the leadership of my company has decided that in order to get people to come back into the office, they need to do upgrades to our office space that makes it more desirable.

When I worked for a startup in Texas, they had stocked snack rooms that were essentially free 7-11's in the office - you could even get hot dogs or hot pockets. They also had POP every Friday, short for Party on the Patio where they setup a bar around 3pm and had either a DJ or a live band.

My company? Their idea to get people back into the office? They took away my training center and they are turning it into a yoga room.

This is the braintrust running our HR department.

a good friend of mine is now the majority (third generation) owner of his family's funeral home. If I am awake in the wee hours and if I have been having a fun night, I will call the late night line and ask the operator(s) (he contracts with some online group like most everyone else does for such now) all sorts of crazy and weird shit like if I get a discount if the deceased was a midget since the funeral home won't have to do as much work, could I spend some time alone with the corpses, etc and then I find out if my buddy is on call (he still takes shifts like everyone else). If he's the one on call, I have them put me through to him and he will pick up and start cursing me out once he realizes it is me..
