We are in deep shit, but I won’t say that. Roy saved this program and had the greatest twelve year stretch in program history. I can’t and won’t forget that.

And he’s destroyed the program by handing it off to this dumbass.

It is the product of a cultural shortcoming within the athletic department and university at large. Even with the political and social upheaval that has occurred within state government, the BOG, the BOT and university itself, the school tends to be far too reliant on remaining “in house.” We buy too much into our own hype and keep things in an inner circle / “the family” instead of going outside for someone who has shown competency and been successful elsewhere.

The more I think about it, the more I think Bubba is playing the long game. He had nothing to lose with Hubert. If Hubert succeeds, wonderful, but if Hubert fails, Bubba can fire him in short order, conduct his own search and tell the “family” types that he is under pressure to do so since there is no clear cut “family saviors” like Roy this time and that he has to go outside to find someone elite. Then Bubba will have complete control over basketball, and when Mack retires in 2-4 years, he will have complete control over football.

Didn't we talk about this already? Specifically the scene in which the billionaire hedge fund manager dismissed most of his clients b/c they weren't "doing good in the world"? But he did keep the fireman's pension fund...
