And let’s face it, Roy doesn’t come to UNC if it was a complete dumpster fire, which it would have been had it not been for the 1/1,000,000,000 odds of having three of the top ten players in a class fall into our lap due to two being lifelong fans and relatively close (4 hours…Felton in Latta, SC and McCants in Asheville) and the third (May) not going to IU because his father was angry at the university and steering him to UNC because of the dad’s relationship with Phil Ford and Dean Smith.
We avoided irrelevance by a lot thinner margin than we want to admit, and I don’t see us being that lucky now.
If Jackson signs with Dook, Hubert needs to resign, but even if we get Jackson, the team will still have a boat load of holes.
Also, losing a Kinston kid to transfer will cause serious issues with the NC aau teams because of Kinston’s prominence. That is going to hurt us across the state.

Except for the Rich Rodriguez disaster, Michigan football has spent 33 years post-Bo ensuring the program was led by “Michigan men.” Outside of a fluke title in 1997 and this past season, Michigan never went into bowl season as a national title contender and under-performed more often than not, often to an astounding degree. The athletic department and basketball program needs to look at that as an example and learn. Wes Miler was more qualified than Davis, but even he lacked the qualifications needed in terms of high major experience. So, the program needs to look outside for the next coach. You can’t tell me Carolina cannot get a qualified, successful, proven P5 head coach. This shit has to stop.
I get that football income drives a modern athletic department and that booster clubs are largely dependent on a few hundred donors for the vast majority of funds, but studies and statistics show that younger generations don’t give as much to booster clubs like our parents did. If Rams Clubs members see / think that there is no longer a need to keep up their points giving for post season tickets and season tickets, the RC will sustain another hit, and given the number of Olympic sports scholarships the RC has to cover, they can’t afford any hits.

DS — You get it completely. Unfortunately, imbeciles run UNC Athletics. They’ve all but destroyed the Crown Jewels.

We had a wonderful chancellor in Carol Folt. She was ran out of town by the imbecilic and overly political right wing hacks on the BOG and BOT.
Kevin Guskiewic has not been a complete tool of those right-wing ideologues, but he needs to take a stand by telling Cunningham that shit has to change.

Roy’s not right-wing. He caused this basketball shit. The other problems are another story.

I no did not say he is. In fact, he’s fairly liberal based upon the limited number of statements he has made over the years.
I was commenting on the fact that the right wingers ran off a competent chancellor who had the gravitas and willingness to step in to tell an AD enough was enough. I should have been more clear.

You guys saw the power of the NIL with A&M's recruiting class - that sent ripples across college football.
At the moment, no kid is going to care about anything other than how much money a school can generate for him - all the old standards are gone.
The quickest remedy or demise for Carolina will be how they decide to address NILs in recruiting. They make it a priority, then Davis can just roll the balls outs. they decide that isn't how they want to run a program (which Roy Williams already decided) and they will see the bottom half of the ACC for years.

The mother fucker had the goddamned nerve to make a joke about accepting the expected/inevitable when someone asked about the game.
Too fucking soon...

Wildcats just split the home-and-home with what WAS the #3 team in the country. UCLA dropped down to #12, still awesome.
20-2. Tomorrow night, they are flying up to the state of Washington, will be there all weekend. I hope we win the Pac-12 championship but we don't need to do that to get an invite. Keep playing like they have been lately, they will get a 1 seed in whatever bracket they wind up in.

Of course UVa, who we beat by 16 a month ago, beat Duke last night. In Durham. This is a fucked up year in college hoops...

Do you think it's still 1997? Shit has changed completely in college hoops. Carolina is not a marquee job anymore. There aren't any marquee jobs anymore. The whole thing is going to shit before our eyes.
