So you really don't think a publicly available accounting of where $500 billion went is a big deal?

I guess, if you assume it was divided evenly. I think the point is, it's our tax (and debt) dollars that paid for this, you'd think we'd have a right to know how it was spent. I guess some people don't care, as long as Trump is in charge they're satisfied that everything is on the up and up...
We have like 7 employees and I think our loan was more than half of that average, so its hard for me to see like millions of companies getting $.50 and handful getting hundreds of millions which is what it would have to be to skew that average unevenly like you imply. We are tiny, and it seems the average loan is only like twice our size. The math would not work for like some companies getting hundreds millions or something like what is implied.
Im guessing you and your gut feelings about the math were the intended target of that tweet.

I have no idea what kind of laws or privacy issues might be breached by just "releasing a list of everybody" like what that tweet implies should be done. For one thing, the government sent the money to the fucking banks to make the loans, who are probably the main profiteers, and yet these people want to comb the list of businesses trying to make their payroll to find some skins they can try to nail.

$5 million in PPP loan (the top bracket listed at 0.1% of the loans) is basically the equivalent of 500 employees at $50k salaries for the 10 week period. 500 employees is the maximum that qualifies as a small business and would be eligible, so it makes sense that just over that would be the upper limit of what most any businesses could qualify for. About $10 million is the absolute ceiling someone could get since it doesnt cover anything any employee makes over $100k per year. So if you had 499 employees and paid them all over $100k a year, you would qualify for about a $10 million loan.

If you're suggesting that Congressmen and Congresswomen likely voted their own business interests into $50k forgivable loans here and there, while also likely voting some entities related to Donald Trump into qualifying as well, then yes, I'd tell you that our corrupt politicians in Congress probably did exactly that and I dont need to see the list or hear the NYT moan (probably only about Trump) about it either in order to know it.

Didn't somebody give back a $5 million loan? Might've been more than one company...

Sad to see prof, crotch and e among others run away with their tails between their legs once they finally realized Trump ain't gonna win. Probably spending this time working on their bunkers for when we come to get them.

No doubt the resident degenerates on this board will have a childish negative response to this but I'll post it anyway.
We have become a nation that has lost its way!
• If a dude pretends to be a woman, you are required to pretend with him.
• Somehow it’s un-American for the census to count how many Americans are in America.
• Russians influencing our elections are bad, but illegals voting in our elections are good.
• It was cool for Joe Biden to "blackmail" the President of Ukraine, but it’s an impeachable offense if Donald Trump inquires about it.
• Twenty is too young to drink a beer, but eighteen is old enough to vote.
• People who have never owned slaves should pay slavery reparations to people who have never been slaves.
• Inflammatory rhetoric is outrageous, but harassing people in restaurants is virtuous.
• People who have never been to college should pay the debts of college students who took out huge loans for their degrees.
• Immigrants with tuberculosis and polio are welcome, but you’d better be able to prove your dog is vaccinated.
• Irish doctors and German engineers who want to immigrate must go through a rigorous vetting process, but any illiterate gang-bangers who jump the southern fence are welcome.
• $5 billion for border security is too expensive, but $1.5 trillion for “free” health care is not.
• If you cheat to get into college you go to prison, but if you cheat to get into the country you go to college for free.
• People who say there is no such thing as gender are demanding a female President.
• We see other countries going Socialist and collapsing, but it seems like a great plan to us.
• Some people are held responsible for things that happened before they were born, and other people are not held responsible for what they are doing right now.
• Criminals are catch-and-released to hurt more people, but stopping them is bad because it's a violation of THEIR rights.
• And pointing out all this hypocrisy somehow makes us "racists"?!
Nothing makes sense anymore, no values, no morals, no civility and people are dying of a Chinese virus.
We are living in an upside down world for sure. We are becoming a Godless Society.

Jesus christ, talk about fake news, this is the very definition of it, but I doubt we'll be hearing Trump talk about this...
