Kentucky's best offensive threat gets hurt in the game, Cal has a lottery pick sitting on the bench, won't put him in the fucking game out of fear of damaging his draft stock

We were blown out by Wake Fucking Forest
I missed the game though. I have a cold and fell asleep before tipoff. Here is the closing from IC’s game summary:
“After UNC delivered a lackluster performance against UNC Asheville on Nov. 23, two days after the trend-setting debacle against Tennessee in the Hall of Fame Tip-off, Davis told reporters he was convinced this team had a chance to win the national championship. With seven weeks remaining until Selection Sunday, UNC is at best on the NCAA Tournament bubble with only a handful of resume-building opportunities ahead.
The Tar Heels have played five teams currently projected into the NCAA Tournament field and have lost all five games by an average of 21 points.“

Davis is holding them back for a deep March run. He doesn't want them to burn out on early season victories...

Roy has now fucked us twice in coaching transitions. This is going to be worse than Doherty.

looks like you guys are going to be stuck with Davis for awhile.
He is likeable , he is family (so he knows where the bodies are buried) and hey, welcome to the club of having an African American coach in the era of woke cancel culture

Yep. I tried to warn everyone who would listen. It’s too late now. We’re stuck with this fucking clown.
Welcome to 8-20 the Sequel next season.

I think Hubie will step down if things really go south (and they might)...

UK hired a real black coach who won the national title in his first year
UNC hired an inbred retard who’s destroying the Program

The program was already going downhill. We're a football school now...

What is it about Duke that all these motherfuckers want to go there? Is the veneer of elite academics that draws them? Knowing that there's no way in hell they'd ever be admitted to such a place except for basketball (that might be true of many schools and many players, but esp. Duke), so being able to say they went to Duke (even if only for a semester or two) is some kind of stroke to their ego? I don't know, but they goddamn sure keep getting the recruits...

first, start with them being a nike school and nike is sending them there
hard to overcome that.
couple that with before NIL money , Duke was finding high paying jobs for mom and dad so they could live close to campus -the brotherhood
now I suspect that Coach K is making the circuit to donors to hop on NIL because if anyone is going to potentially get crushed by NIL , its Duke due to the size and location.

Ayup.
It's not just athletes, its everyone. I worked with two Duke grads, both got their master's degrees at Duke. I asked them the same thing, why do people want to go there? It's the "network."
If you are not technical or overly bright, then you rely on a "network" of Duke alumni to get your management jobs/executive jobs in business. You don't have to know anything (any special expertise) but you can pretty much count on lifelong employment giving orders at Indians (dot-not-feather) who DO know what to do. You take a bullshit job as an executive vice president at some bullshit start-up, you get your 200,000 stock options, the company fails, you get laid off, and no big deal, just post on a Duke board and someone in the "network" will get you another executive, do-nothing-job, elsewhere.
Duke alumni suck each other's cocks and give each other a "leg up" in the business world. Once you graduate, you are in their "network", and you will be given preference for employment and promotions. When asked about why the 100 wealthy parents in the Varsity Blues scandal were so willing to spend all that money and break all those mail fraud laws to get their undeserved spawn into elite institutions (at least two or three of the spawn, cheating to get into Duke), the response was almost always the same (if they were being honest.) My kid is dumb. They can't do anything. They suck at school. But I want them to have a "leg up" in life and get the best do-nothing management jobs. So, they have to get into the "network." That only happens if I cheat.

We're a fucking Nike school too, goddamn Jordan Brand flagship, why aren't they funneling them to us?

probably because Roy at some point told them to kiss his ass
Cal didn't take UK to play in a Nike tournament in 2016. Our recruiting fell off a cliff for a few years..well..until this year as a matter of fact

I wish we could recruit even half as well as UNC or Kentucky
