Even the couple (at most) times I've heard Trump express any sympathy towards the fambly's of covid death victims, it's in that same robotic voice, like Will Ferrell on the SNL skit where he had voice modulation issues. The guy isn't human, he has no normal human feelings. Of course he hasn't expressed any sympathy whatsoever for any of the protesters or why so many feel called to go out on the streets and express their feelings. B/c he doesn't give a shit about their feelings, even though he's supposed to be the president of everybody. He knows that calling them all thugs and hoodlums plays to his base, and that's all he cares about. I'm not even saying it's right or it's wrong, but any normal human would have at least given one soundbite of sympathy or an attempt at understanding the frustration of, clearly, millions of folks. But he literally does not give a shit about them and probably would be glad to see them all dead. B/c he is literally a piece of shit...

"it made all the difference to the people suffering I'm sure."
Actually a gesture like that does make a difference. Obviously Trump doesn't understand that at all, but I kinda thought you might..

my whole rant earlier was about meaningless gestures
if they mean something to someone fine, but at the end of the day, its meaningless actions that have no ability to create change in their lives.
but if you want Trump to wear a T-shirt, I'm OK with that, hell, put a bumper sticker on air force one too.
but jobs creation for the most disaffected in the United States, you know - someone else is responsible for that. We don't know who or how, but it can't be those crazy economic policies to drive manufacturing.

Look, if Trump has "created" any jobs (but he hasn't really), it's only b/c the market obviously loves no rules, no restrictions, no responsibility. That's what Trump represents. That's all he represents. Clearly you seem to be freaking the fuck out about looters and the calls for a re-figuring of policing in this country, but I guess you don't give a shit about clean air, clean water, clean food, fuck all of it, as long as massive corporations can make just a little more profit and therefor hire a few more people at minimum wage. Woo-hoo!! Happy days. No oversight, no regulations, just trust them to do the right thing. No thanks. But oh good golly Miss Molly, somebody steals $20 worth of toilet paper from the Target or busts out a few windows, Nelly bar the fucking door, call out 101rst Ariborne and shoot anybody with a rock in their fucking hand. LAW AND ORDER UBER ALLES!!! ARBEIT MACHT FREI!!!! Fuck that goddamn noise....

yes, the market loves no rules, no restrictions, no responsibility - however you define. You think it was random that the country voted for Trump? They knew he represented that and that markets would respond favorably to his presidency. So yea, he is responsible , perhaps moreso than Bush or Obama for the economic prosperity African Americans have had.
the rest of it, yea, I'm ok with that characterization.

The country did not vote for Trump. The electoral college did.

There have been protests about this same issue for years. The escalation to the level of riots and looting are the result of socialist agitation. And this socialist movement is also global and not local. Its pretty fucking hard for example to pin riots in Vancouver, Toronto, London etc as happening because Trump is the President of the United States, much less because of policing in Minneapolis, Minnesota

I think you are giving way too much credit to the average voter in this country. And, like Rat said, a substantial majority did not vote for Trump...

But the growth of conservative and right wing influence was timed with the election of Trump
Brexit began in June of 2016, In September, Merkels party was beaten by right wing populist, there was a definite right wing swing in Europe in 2016 - Trump had to have some influence on that., or at a minimum it was a backlash against the left wing policies , represented by Obama and other world leaders.

actually I'd say it giving them all the credit.
Trump established his platform, primarily from an 18 month study on news and social media. He recognized there was a growing backlash from conservatives against their sitting representatives - Boehner, Ryan, McConnell, Graham, Romney and McCain. The reason why primarily was their refusal to push back on immigration, global economy and healthcare.
Trump developed his strategy to run for president on that platform. So while he may have invented himself as some faux conservative, the issues he represented were very inline with the what flyover country conservatives believed and he knew it. The voters rallied around him for it. For the most part I'd say he'd tried to stay true to his platform without deviating.

"There have been protests about this same issue for years. The escalation to the level of riots and looting are the result of socialist agitation."
But no right wing groups are smart enough to foment riots and looting, knowing it will all be blamed (well, by some people, anyway) on left wing "socialist" agitators? If that's the case, they are dumber than I thought. Of course, none of that means there aren't left wing "socialist" agitators out there actually doing what you claim, I'm pretty sure those people aren't that dumb...

Again. see: The Tea Party. And, as a side note: LMFAO at Trump "studying" anything. But I realize that makes him seem more thoughtful and intelligent to his followers, so, well, that's what they chalk it up to....

I hope you're going to be as magnanimous to the urban voters who reject this view if Trump gets crushed in November...
