My guess is he didn't anticipate the police there guns drawn when he walked out the door holding a gun and was immediately shot.

And I don't think for a second he had intent to shoot a policeman, but damn, pulling a gun, or even willing go out while everyone else is running in during a riot situation?

Someone fires a gun from somewhere at 2:18/5:12. Both the police and the people in the doorway look surprised (but you cant tell if McAtee is surprised or if he might have been the one who fired, there does appear to be either a muzzle blast or a ricochet in the doorway on the interior camera at 2:18 at this point) In the exterior view a cannister or something simultaneously falls and hits the ground under the tent outside. The police back away and everybody in the barbecue place jumps and runs from the doorway. The police clearly thought it came from the doorway (and potentially the people in the doorway may have thought it came from the police). So McAtee goes back out to the doorway at 2:30/5:12 and gets lit up by the cops, and in the process drops a gun? The dude in blue/green shorts had also drawn a weapon and is holding a gun, but he doesnt fire it or drop it I dont think.

it was a high risk decision on his part to say the least

probably thought he was doing the right thing, maybe trying to stop whatever was causing his friends and customers to flee

Speaking of Zoom, I hadn't even heard of it before all this coronavirus started, it was trading around $70, now at $220 in just a few months. Never seen a relatively unknown company get as much free press as they have. Mentioned by name over and over all over the news, like it was a known commodity (like Google or Facebook). No telling how many millions of dollars of free publicity they've gotten since March...

we can't use it due to a security risk, we use MS Teams, but I think you can a similar experience to Zoom from Google Meets for up to 16 people.
