Last year they could at least count on their DTs to get some penetration up the middle. Not so today.

Gentlemen, Auburn is in trouble.

I might have to cancel my reservations in Shreveport.

Well, I see we're picking up where we left off in the white-knuckler category.

Easy to go from penthouse to outhouse in the SEC West...gonna take a shit-ton of improvement to get to the 7-5 guess. I wasn't expecting the D-line to look THAT bad. The good news is that the "find a way to win" gene looks like it's still around. The bad news is that it's going to get a workout this year.

I hope you burned up all your favorable bounce karma so there's none left in mid-October.

I was sickened to hear that ESPN has another broad doing play by play on college games now, and doesn't have the sense to relegate her to crappy MWC games that nobody watches. No sooner was that game done than Pam Ward comes on another game. Its enough to reduce one to beg for Musberger.

Complaining about wins is better than complaining about a loss.

Damn straight.

There will be no 14-0 on the Plains this year, though, unless it's how badly we're losing to Alabama after the first 2:00 of the game.

Mike Bellotti was serviceable yesterday, Beth Mowins...geez-o-flip. At least give Jill Arrington a call and see if she's up for some PBP... 8-)

Utah State going on FOUR touchdown drives of longer than 14 plays is a bad sign. If you give up a long TD or maybe even two due to a busted coverage, you can fix it and move on. When you're getting marched on time after time, well, that's a large problem.

I liked when they showed Auburn's placards of Obama and Bush, which I guess they are using to signal in plays. Beth Mowins observed that they were using pictures of two ex-presidents.

I guess that would be former-President Bush and former-President Obama.

When this game first came on, I thought well damn... MississiPi ST is still the same old same old. AU is going to kick their ass. I mean it was pretty much the norm, refs obviously cheating for Auburn, but ST was doing their part to self destruct.

Then it got past the 12 minute mark of the first qtr and ST settled down. AU's defense is getting the ball rammed down their throat by ST. Both teams have a pic 6 in the game. Both have a mid distance TD pass. Tied at 21.

Another heart-stopping win, this time over a ranked team. I'm surprised, but I'll take it.

It gives me some hope for our road trip to Clemson next week. Like Miss. State, they are a decent team that tends to collapse against us.

Put down the crack pipe, GBJ. This win just means we might be a .500 team and make it to Shreveport after all.

Meanwhile, Bama and LSU are proving themselves to be NFL expansion teams. The game between those two will determine the National Championship (if either Boise or Oklahoma stumble, that is.).
