So it sounds like vol nation are all dedicated Colts fans until Manning gets hurt. Then they root for all teams against the Colts so they can prove how valuable Manning is to the team...

Sardis nails it.

The 'lifelong Colts fans' jumped quickly off the Kerry Collins bandwagon....

Never said I was a Colts fan, lifelong or otherwise. Whether I am or not is really irrelevant to the discussion. I'm just a guy with eyes and a brain that can look at the facts and see that Manning > Brady.

I don't want the Colts to lose. And I won't be upset if they win. But if they do continue to suck without Manning -- and they will -- then it's just more evidence. It's unnecessary evidence, because the facts already support that Manning > Brady. Just like the facts support that the Patriots have been the better overall team (see the oft-cited SB rings). But since so many haters continue to deny reality, then I'll continue to use whatever evidence is available to make them look silly.

I (and others here) have said for years that the Colts would be hurting without Manning (unlike the Patriots without Brady). Now, unfortunately, we are going to be proven right AGAIN. I'm certainly not going to apologize for that. I didn't want Manning to get hurt and I'm not happy about it. It is what it is.

For the love of Zeus, this "debate" has been going on for years - literally.

Manning and Brady are both future HoF QBs. It's okay to disagree on who is better, and your opinion is not diminished by the fact that not everyone agrees with you.

Here's the deal: Brady would have more 4000 yard seasons if he had played for the Colts all these years. Different supporting cast, offense, and different requirements.

On the other hand, Peyton would have more rings if he had played for the Pats all these years.

The fact is, they are two of the best the game has to offer.

Now, all of you, stfu.

I am not a Vol Nation member. I am a Colts fan. I am not rooting against the Colts. I want them to win. I am not rooting against Kerry either. I want him to succeed.

However just to say Peyton doesn't mean much to the offense, that his backup should have been mentored properly (throw out skill level, athletic ability, football knowledge)......that kind of ignorance and prickishness should be punished without hesitation and without any need for futher discussion.

Haters gonna hate.

All the people shouting the nonsense, check their NFL team QB and then get back with me.

You can thank me later.

Peyton means as much to his offense just like Brees, Rivers, Palmer (oops, fuck!) Dalton, and others do. Even with Peyton this was an 8-8 team and with a little luck a playoff team.

I guess we shall never know. Pretty much same group of guys from last year....well except all the ones that were fucking on IR and maybe could have made a difference this year.

Sorry Rat, I am just using some logic nuggets from this argument. Backups should be just as good because the starters mentor them so well. Teams should never miss a beat.

I don't think there's any evidence to suggest that Brady possesses the ability to run the Colts' offense in the same way that Peyton does it. He's a good QB who has the advantage of playing on the dominant team of his era. He's not asked to do what Peyton does, so it's presumptuous to assume that he could do it if he had to. The Colts would probably be mediocre with Brady at QB -- with pretty much any other QB, except Peyton Manning.

Yes, more rings than Brady. He'd probably have 7 or 8 by now.

Holy smokes. Both sides are doing their best to be less reasonable than the other side.

The stakeholders in this "argument" are ridiculous to the point of absurdity.

Good day.

I think we can exclude Hack from any further discussions on this matter. Clearly he has mental problems and won't make it past the grand jury.

Hack, how many times has Peyton thrown for 517 yards or more?

Thanks!

yea, wouldn't want to discuss postseason results. VolNation wouldn't like that....
