"the ability of mueller to survive as described as impartial in an environment with comey/McCabe/strozak page all playing strong roles in the course is ridiculous"

You're right, they should've let Trump hand-pick every member of the investigation team, no doubt would've included Cohen and Steve Bannon, among other stellar characters. That would've been the only way Trump could've gotten a fair hearing...

“I think [firing Mueller would be] a form of political suicide. If you fire one guy, then you fire another, all of a sudden it begins to look like you’re trying to hide something, look like you have a reason to want the investigations to go away. … It doesn’t pass the smell test. … I think people would go nuts.”

Mueller “is a man of integrity… and he needs to be able to do his work. … And I think it’s better for all of us if that work continues. It’s – obviously he is going to get to the bottom and he is going to find the facts, and I think that’s his role. And I think we ought to let him continue to do that and I assume at some point there will be an end to all this. He’ll have done his investigation and there will be whatever findings there are.”
Heh... You quote Mitch McConnell, Susan Collins, Bob Corker, Jeff Flake, Lindsay Graham, John McCain, Mark Sanford? There are enough RINO's in your quote to provision an African Safari. Why not go ahead and add Bloomberg, Schwarzenegger, Romney, etc?

A federal judge in California threw out two lawsuits trying to hold oil companies responsible for global climate change, according to court documents.

U.S. District Judge William Alsup, appointed by former-President Bill Clinton, dismissed lawsuits by Oakland and San Francisco. The lawsuits sought to recoup damages from sever weather from oil companies, as well as force the companies to invest into a fund that would pay for future infrastructure to protect against more severe weather and rising sea levels.

The lawsuit did not paint the reality of fossil fuels fully. Specifically, the lawsuit omitted many of the massive benefits using fossil fuels has had on technological progress and society in general, according to Alsup.

The National Manufacturers Association (NAM) cheered the ruling.

“From the moment these baseless lawsuits were filed, we have argued that the courtroom was not the proper venue to address this global challenge,” NAM president and CEO Jay Timmons said in a statement. “Judge Alsup agreed. Other municipalities around the country who have filed similar lawsuits should take note as those complaints are likely to end the same way.”

UPDATE to the scorecard of Trump's accomplishments:

He does not demean, besmirch, or express smug hostility towards, blue collar or rural people.
He does not convey the idea that people with advanced educations are smarter and better than blue collar or rural people.
He got rid of a lot of inane government regulations that were killing jobs.
He stopped Obama's war on the coal industry, and by extension any other industries that liberals might decide to target for destruction.
He is keeping factories and jobs in America and luring more in from overseas.
He cancelled TPP, which was killing US jobs.
He threatened to cancel NAFTA, which was killing US jobs, and got Mexico and Canada back to the negotiating table to make NAFTA kill fewer US jobs.
He approved and started the Keystone pipeline.
He approved drilling in ANWAR.
He has approved so much fracking and domestic oil drilling that the US is far less vulnerable to the whims of crazy anti-American Middle East thugocracies.
He has started enforcing the law by deporting illegal aliens, focusing on the ones that have committed crimes after arriving here, especially gangs like MS 13, which California is trying to protect.
He has made an attempt to start building the Wall, sort of.
He got rid of the individual mandate in Obamacare, which forced people to buy health care products they did not want.
He stopped Obama's war on guns.
He stopped Obama's war on Christian nuns, florists and bakers who failed to comply with federally approved religious dogma.
He stopped the federal government trying to force men who think they are women into every women's bathroom in America.
He is calling AGW what it is - a hoax supported by fraudulent pseudoscience.
He got us out of the Paris Climate Accords, which wold have imposed energy restrictions on the West but allowed the world's largest polluter - China - to keep polluting as much as they wanted.
He is taking steps to punish cities that refuse to comply with federal immigration law, sort of.
He is calling out the MSM news outlets and telling them straight to their faces what they truly are - the PR department of the Democrat Party and a disgrace to their profession.
Neil Gorsuch. Neil Gorsuch. Neil Gorsuch. (Did I mention Neil Gorsuch?)
He is stocking the federal bench with judges who apply the law as it actually written, and not just follow their own personal liberal utopian preferences.
He credibly threatened Kim Jong Whale to the negotiating table, with the possibility (however slim) of negotiating the NORKS out of their nukes and nuke program. At the negotiating table, Kim Jong Un has released 3 American hostages, destroyed his own nuclear facilities, stopped launching ICBM's and detonating nukes, pledged to denuclearize entirely.
He has not attacked North Korea, yet, which would kill millions of people.
He has withdrawn the US from the most Neville Chamberlain-esque treaty in US history, Obama's feckless Iran nuke deal.
He treats Israel, the only pro-Western constitutional democracy in the Middle East, like a respected ally. Unlike his predecessor.
He calls Islamic terrorism what it is - Islamic terrorism. Unlike his predecessor.
He has nearly destroyed ISIS all over the world, which has never been reported in the MSM.
He has cut taxes paid by the middle class and forced people in high tax states to pay for their own state taxes and not hand the bill to the rest of the country.
He has presided over the lowest unemployment rate since the 1970's.
He has presided over the lowest unemployment rate for blacks in history.
He has presided over a long series of stock market record highs.
He has absorbed the most vicious and sustained attack in history by the news media, the entertainment industry, academia, yet his poll numbers have risen.
He has been subjected of the most fact-free, evidence-free, probable cause-free, partisan investigation by the entire leadership of the FBI/DOJ who have abused their authority by manufacturing false evidence, lied to FISA courts, and reenacted Watergate and Nixon's Plumbers by planting spies in the Trump campaign. The DOJ Inspector General has documented investigative misconduct by the former Director of the FBI (Comey), the former Deputy Director of the FBI (McCabe), the FBI Chief of Counterintelligence (Strojk), and five other unidentified FBI Agents. The IG's investigation of FISA warrant abuses is ongoing.Yet, despite the greatest political witch hunt in us law enforcement history, his poll number have gone up.
He has banned travel from countries riddled with terrorism, as upheld by the Supreme Court.
He causes millions of liberals to be afflicted with Trump Derangement Syndrome, a mental illness that causes its sufferers to become obsessed with his destruction by any means necessary, believing all kinds of wild and crazy conspiracy theories about him, and generally lose all their rational faculties, so much so that they become repugnant to millions of non-TDS voters who don't live in the Northeast or West Coast, making Trump's reelection increasingly likely.

I am. Part-time. I was on my farm the past two days. The commercial pine trees are growing nicely. Thanks for asking.

Not only did SCOTUS uphold Trump's travel ban, and tell environmentalist wackos that they can't sue Oil Companies for Global Warming (fictitious as it is), but the Supremes also told California they can't force pro-life abortion counseling services to advertise state abortion services. Justice Kennedy wrote a particularly brilliant majority opinion on that one.

The High Court also denied Democrat attempts too gerrymander Texas and left the Lone Star state's election map as is.

Dang, the Supremes just put a wide ranging whoopin' on the Left. Does this mean that loony snowflakes will start harassing Roberts, Gorsuch, Kennedy, Alito and Thomas at restaurants, movie theaters, gas stations, and their front lawns?

The WaPo now tallies 3,251 Trump lies since his inauguration. There were 105 lies last week, blowing away the previous record of 60 - some speculate the pressure of the two major investigations is getting to him. The Toronto Star does a bang-up job of breaking down the lies...one by one by one.

“Since Election Day, we’ve created -- and this is hard to believe because nobody -- the news back there -- fake news -- if I would have said this during the campaign, we’ve created 3.4 million new jobs, since Election Day, 3.4. If I would have said that during the campaign prior to the election without the numbers they would have said you have to be kidding.”
Source: Speech to Nevada Republican Party

in fact: It is not true that the media would have accused him of exaggerating if he said 3.4 million jobs would be created over this period (November 2017 through May 2018). That is a 19-month period. The number of jobs created over the previous 19 months, under Obama, was 4.1 million.

Hope nobody minds if I drop a few in from time to time - there are some real beauts. Such as:

"But the document we signed, if people actually read it to the public, you'd see: number one statement, 'we will immediately begin total denuclearization of North Korea.' Nobody thought that would be possible."
Source: Remarks at Cabinet meeting

in fact: Trump added in an important phrase that does not actually appear in the agreement between the U.S. and North Korea: "We will immediately begin." The third item in the agreement reads as follows: "Reaffirming the April 27, 2018 Panmunjom Declaration, the DPRK commits to work toward complete denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula." There were no specifics about when North Korea would start the process.

Better pray the dems don't take the senate in the midterms, they'll keep that seat vacant until the 2020 election, just like the repubs did to Obama. In fact, you might as well get used to that from now on, the Senate will now decide who gets to be on the supreme court, not the president. Great work...

Surely they will want to have someone confirmed by October. If it's gotten to the election before confirmation, that would already be blunder regardless of the election outcome.

The new judge will be appointed before midterms. Haven’t you been watching the latest court cases? Kennedy is a conservative. One for one, no big deal. You all are acting like you didn’t get your participation trophy.

The Senate will remain safely Republican in 2020. The predicted "Blue Wave" will evaporate just like Hillary's Midwestern "Blue Wall." No worries there.

TED CRUZ FOR SCOTUS!!!

The liberals are barely sane already. That would cut their last remaining thread connecting them to sanity.

Trump will have already filled two SCOTUS seats in 2 years. He has AT LEAST 2 years left, and probably 6. Ginsburg is 85 years old. Breyer is 79. I like that math.
