Heh... so true

Atlanta sports fans are indeed terrible

We save all our fervor on college football, so there is little passion left for other sports.

"I think there is also the perception that the Euro style leagues where there are dominant super powers that compete with only 1 or 2 or 3 other teams, while everyone else has almost no chance wouldn't play well here"

You mean like the NBA?

The NBA is like that for far different reasons and though it may be dominated by only a few teams that have a chance in a given year, if you wait 5 years the handful of teams can be totally different ones.

In European soccer leagues its generally the same few teams winning all the time. In Germany two teams have combined for 20 of the last 25 championships. In Spain, identical, two teams winning 20 out of last 25. In Italy there is one extra powerhouse so 3 teams have combined for 22 out of 25. 11 different teams have won NBA titles in the last 25 years. In MLS 12 different teams have won in 21 years.

and Liverpool has won every trophy it could win over the past twenty seven years except the one it wants most...

I'll never forget screaming in agony when Gerrard fell on his ass. I knew then that Liverpool wouldn't win the league that year. They only needed to draw Chelski and then beat Crystal Fucking Palace and the shitass geordies of Newcastle. No. They had to end up losing to Chelski and then draw Crystal Fucking Palace despite being up 3-0 with ten minutes of regular time remaining. Fuck Brendan Rodgers. Fuck whoever cursed Liverpool when King Kenny left. Bastards will probably make a great run at the league this coming year and shit the bed in May. It's time again.

Odd....

http://www.espnfc.com/united-states/sto ... als-record
A veteran U.S. international, Dempsey is no stranger to scoring big goals. He found the net against Egypt, Spain and Brazil as the U.S. reached the 2009 FIFA Confederations Cup final. He also scored the tying goal against England in the Americans' 2010 World Cup opener and netted 30 seconds in against Ghana in the U.S. opener at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

Abby Wambach scored 184 goals in 255 caps for the U.S. women's national team, the most by any player -- man or woman -- in FIFA history. Dempsey and Donovan would be tied for 10th on the USWNT all-time scoring list.
LOL WTF? Nice job throwing that in. The next sentence probably should have been "However, if Clint Dempsey had played for the USWNT, he'd probably have, like, 500 goals.

Somebody needs to do a feelgood video on heroin like that one on soccer in Cincinnati. Just good folks sitting around chilling, not bothering anybody, enjoying their day...

We've seen that video plenty already. In fact, that's all we've seen. That doesn't mean it's the reality for everyone who chooses to use heroin. Look, I don't know how I got into this position in here as the defender of heroin, I am probably the only one in here who has done it and I know firsthand how bad it can be. I don't advocate anyone using it, I think the risks far outweigh the rewards. I have told the MIF's girls in the strongest terms not to fuck with it (I've never been worried that either of them would, but I have done it anyway).

But to me, criminalization isn't the answer. If somebody is hellbent on doing it, what business is it of mine? The only altruistic motive I have in that case is to try and make sure it's as safe as something like that can be, and buying shit off the street from somebody who doesn't give a shit about you isn't the way to do that, and also public education about the dangers and information about where to go to get off of it if you're already doing it.

I am kinda surprised that in a forum full of people who claim to be libertarians I am the only one who doesn't think the government has any role in this outside public safety. Prohibition just doesn't work, it's been proven again and again, but still people run screaming for the government to "do something." I totally get that people are rightly concerned and even terrified that their kids might get into it, but again, that's your job as a parent to see that it doesn't happen, not the government's.
