Ah well, it was just too good to be true anyway. A fantasy it was...a top QB and three game-changers at WR, an air attack the likes we've never seen (even in the Shular/Manning/Martin era). Whereas the reality is the QB is a head-case, one WR is coming off reconstructive knee surgery; one hasn't caught a D1 pass, and the other was a grenade with the pin pulled.

Meanwhile Dooley...hasn't caught the first break yet, and may never as UT HC.

What kind of S & C coaches do y'all have up there? Cochran would have caught the weight and threw it back in a friendly game of catch! No wonder Tennessee is beginning to trend down...

I just heard Chris Lowe say UT was wearing home orange jersies and NCSt was wearing all-red (per NCAA approval).

Yo Dooks, do you think the Redskins are going to be any good this year? What is the thinking in your area?

6-10/7-9 if the line improves/becomes healthy/stays healthy.

The thirty owners colluding to fuck the Skins and Cowboys for the 2010 shenanigans, which were allowed by the rules, is going to hurt this club for three years or so. They have glaring needs that Shanny planned to addressed in FA, but, alas, that won't happen. Then again, that handicap isn't as glaring as the franchise's major handicap: the Dantard.

Prof, I have been around, but I haven't been at the megasite as much. I read here, but that's it. Work has finally slowed down some--fall is notoriously slow for family law in our area--and I will be gracing the boards more frequently.

hehehe

Thanks for your thoughts.

I was thinking they could break even this season. Then again, I don't pay much attention to the NFL by the 'skins. I can look at Tennessee's schedule and come up with a reasonable expectation on how the Vols will do in a season as I know the competition well enough to make a good estimate. I don't watch the NFL enough, nor do I know the teams well enough, to glance at the chokeskins schedule to make an educated guess. Your estimate is far better and more informed than mine will ever be.

Volunteers, wideout Rogers part ways

Rumours are DaRick is heading to Tennessee Tech. Tennesse Tech is a great college, an awesome Engineering school as a point of fact. However, their football sucks even for that type of school. They really aren't worth mentioning. And Cookeville sucks on the weekend (although Nashvegas isnt' far away...). He would've been better off going to UTC, in Chattanooga, which is closer to home for him.

What a dumbass.

Is anyone hearing anything about why he was suspended?

The official 'last straw' was another failed drug test.

The weight-throwing incident was real but it happened earlier in the summer. Add that to his body of work - other failed tests, pushing his position coach during a game, vocalizing his distaste for a low-tier bowl and then seemingly going through the motions at KY, the infamous tweets..

It may be a case of addition by subtraction, especially if our talented-but-untested incoming receivers come thru.
