Tony Bennett would be a perfect fit at IU. His style is suited for the Big10, and he would succeed in building a program with those crew cut, corn fed, Midwestern recruits.

I'm sure he'd jump at the chance to leave the shithole he's at now...

The chance of becoming a victim of either violent or property crime in Charlottesville is 1 in 32. Based on FBI crime data, Charlottesville is not one of the safest communities in America. Relative to Virginia, Charlottesville has a crime rate that is higher than 93% of the state's cities and towns of all sizes.

I've never seen a team shoot free throws worse in a big game than this Alabama team. Absolutely horrible.

They should let Bill Walton call any of the rest of the games that a PAC10 team is in...

Well I was hoping Bama would make a magical run to the final four. I didn't watch the game but I did see the last few minutes. Seems like they could never stop UCLA.

Cronin will get a gold star for that .

Cronin can coach. I wish Carolina would give him a look when Roy leaves, but the donors and athletic department would probably bitch about his defensive-focused system.

Beating UCLA for his services shouldn't be an issue. UCLA does not have a practice facility dedicated solely to the mens basketball program, and they still fly commercial. Pauley -- though recently renovated -- is still far from being on par with the other basketball schools, and then there is the fact that LA could give two shits less about college basketball.

Would Carolina tolerate him being an ass?

I'm not going to dog Indiana for the Woodson hire. I suspect he'll have a short leash, but he might pull it off. Its going to begin and end with recruiting, and hiring Matta to be an assistant AD is going to really help. Between the two of them they should be able to recruit the midwest, and Matta is going to get Woodson up to speed on coaching college.

This tournament is like some throwback to the 70s when obscure schools were powerhouses and not all the blue bloods were that blue, except UCLA

Memphis proved they were a tournament team. Shame the committee didn’t think so...

The committee made a few mistakes. Especially putting UCLA in the last 4. I had them losing to those shitstain free throw shooting Bammers last night.

Depending on who fills out the staff for IU, I have some reservations about the hire. Dude is on the back 9 of his career. I would have rather had someone younger and more fire, like I said Fife, unless he wanted NOTHING to do with the job. The Thad choice as an assistant AD is merely for optics IMO. If Woodson is horrible, AD fires Thad saying it was his influence that made the decision and if Woodson does great, it can lead to an AD job for Thad somewhere else.

No matter what, they need to hire a couple of guys that know how recruiting works and are good at it. You need those grinders to get it done.

Exactly what I told some buddies yesterday. If the Heels are going to suck, at least it’s been a stress free tournament. No worries of another blueblood winning it all. UCLA is due for a hammering.

well the good news is Woodson and Matta aren't long term solutions. IU will get 5 serviceable years out of him at best.

I'm hoping Gonzaga wins it all. I like Mark Few and it will up Gonzaga's profile, which will mean Duke will have more competition for top 20 white boy recruits...
