The surprising part of the story is someone in the vicinity didn't have a gun on them. It is Texas afterall

A South Texas man faces an aggravated robbery charge after being accused of ordering several tacos, pulling a sword and refusing to pay.

An affidavit says 28-year-old Adam Kramer began sliding the sword out of a sheath and threatened a waitress at a Mexican restaurant in San Antonio. Nobody was hurt in the Dec. 2 incident.

Authorities say Kramer walked out of the restaurant — without the food — and to his truck while yelling either he got free tacos or somebody would die. Investigators say the waitress locked the door after the San Antonio man drove away.

Law officers arrested Kramer the next day. Bond was set at $50,000. Bexar County jail records did not list Kramer as still in custody Tuesday or provide details on an attorney.

Russell Eugene Dawes, a 97-year-old man, allegedly killed his 30-year-old great-granddaughter in her bed.

Dawes, of Cushing, Oklahoma, called the Davis Funeral Home on Dec. 5 and said he needed help with a dead body, local reports said.

When the director of the funeral home, Rodger Floyd, arrived at the house, Dawes told him that he had shot his great-granddaughter.

Police officers found Sonja James dead from a gunshot wound in the chin.

Floyd said James moved in to Dawes’ home to help take care of him a few months ago.

Police officers said Dawes told them: ”I got tired of her carrying on, and I shot her,” reported WPTV.

Dawes, who has no criminal history, now faces a felony murder charge.

“I went up to him, I told him, anything I could do to help him, I’d be more than happy to help him. He thanked me and he told me to take good care of his granddaughter,” said Floyd.

Payne County District Attorney Tom Lee said police are investigating the case.

Dawes was charged with first-degree murder for the alleged killing, and he appeared in court last Friday, reported the Tulsa World.

“I never had something like that before,” Floyd said. “I hope I never will again.”

Floyd described Dawes as a friend he’s known for 30 years. When Dawes initially called him, he wanted Floyd to help dispose of the body.

Instead, Floyd called the authorities.

I agree, but more compelling to this story is without getting into details of what she actually did, his justification for it, and the fact that she was a family member and a care taker.

It behooves us to get them pigs back in the pen, they guy raises pigs and cows in some pastures behind our elevator and uses our parking lot to access (and weigh) his product, so he provides us with more sausage, pork chops, hamburger and steaks than we can eat. We can't empty the freezer fast enough, even with Linwood's gargantuan appetite...
