Saying its because "they wanted more money to help in there" is probably literally true but also eye-rollingly oblivious to the kind of "help" they will actually want to shove into any bill that passes.

I love how every story or news brief I read about Smithfield having to close random pork packing plants all over the country, dispruptions in the meat supply, even human interest stories about immigrant employees at the plants etc etc...all seem to not be interested in following the string to be curious about "why is coronavirus weirdly in all these random meat plants?" The answer is that Smithfield not only does significant business in China, but is actually a Chinese owned company, but this fact is pretty much never, ever mentioned.

Remdesivir has been targeted as a silver bullet for quite some time in regards to Corona, but its expensive. I don't know how much but I've been told as much as $2000 for a months supply.
