Been almost 2 years since our F3 tornado and we're still trying to rebuild our little 'burg.... will be for years to come. First time I've seen this video from the Emergency Response Team that came to town. Moving video to me, maybe not to you guys. The house they're picking up in the parking lot of the hospital belonged to my HS English teacher. She was in the basement when it hit. Would have definitely been killed if she didn't have one. House blew approx 200 feet across the road into the parking lot. I can see the hospital from my front yard. That's how close it came to wiping me out. Thank God it didn't. TBH, I didn't take all the warnings on TV seriously the day it hit... those things just don't happen in the mountains of Eastern Kentucky.... but I do now as do most everyone else. Funny how those things will get your attention real fast. Check out the video if you have time.

Just realized that I was there the day Miss America was born. Her mother was in labor and I almost did a c/section on her when the baby's heartbeat dropped. Her father was a junior resident when I was the Chief Resident in Syracuse.

Took a walk with Logan this morning, he told me about a "Patty Hearst" situation he had in the Philippines. Said he saw this girl on the street, 20 years old, struck up a conversation and got her to come dance in his titty bar. She lived with him a few days, said he fucked her a few times and could tell she didn't really want to, but he did it anyway. But after a couple of days, she seemed to start liking it. Then she asked him for $30, he gave it to her and he never saw her again. Why can't shit like that ever happen to me?
