I'm all for chalking up something to luck until it happens on a regular basis. When that happens, it stops being lucky and becomes something more.

That sure was an entertaining game. Huge win for Bama. They beat one of the two teams on their regular schedule capable of beating them. That just leaves LSU on their regular schedule, UGA in the SECCG, and Oregon in the BCSCG. Everybody else will be just be speed bumps.

Ole Miss will give us fits.

There was only one play where Manziel heaved it up and prayed, which was also a play where he incredibly avoided a certain sack. Evans "bailed him out" several times by being the 2nd best player on the field and running his route and catching the ball when it was thrown to him.

That bail-out heave was horrible. TAMU didn't handle the pressure, Bama didn't finish, and the refs didn't call a hold and a block-in-the-back.

Just glad that the game is over and save some kinda post-season shenanigans, we won't have to see them again.

No. They have a shot to win. They'll play us close. 7 points or so.

Please. It's true that the Brown Bears beat Texas, but these days even Tennessee or 2012 Auburn could beat Texas. Ole Miss is better than usual, but they aren't good enough to hang with Bama for more than a half.

Speaking of Texas, it's interesting that both they and USC will be looking for new coaches soon. Those are the only teams that have the national stature and $$$ to make a serious pitch for Saban.

I doubt he will take them up on their offers, but the offers that could come from a three way bidding war between Bama, Texas and USC could be breathtaking. Saban could become the first billion dollar coach in history. Like I said, I think Saban will stay, but the Alabama state income tax rate could double in order to pay for his contract.

I heard on the sports talk show here that Saban only had 15 operating hair follicles.

Prof,

Ole Miss gave us fits last year, and we were a better team then, and they were a worse team. They played us essentially even for 3 of the 4 quarters and held us to around 300 total yards.

But what do I know about the relative strengths and weaknesses of Alabama football?

I predicted a 10-point win against VaTech. And minus two miraculous special teams' returns, Bama won by 11.

I predicted a 7-point win over TAMU, and we won by 7.

Tell you what, Alabama is a 39.5 fav against Colorado State this week. Take State and the points and thank me later.

So you're taking credit for calling that accurately? LMAO...

Yes. Only because for my intents (relative strengths and weaknesses) it is accurate. Of course, its not accurate from a gambling line standpoint.

So you don't take special teams into consideration when calculating relative strengths and weaknesses? You don't figure your special teams to be good for, e.g., a score or at least a setup for an easy score?

I guess in the future I will understand your predictions to end with "not counting anything special teams might do or any touchdowns made by the defense or anything else like that"...

No. I no more factor Alabama taking two kicks back for TDs any more than I would factor the Bama basketball team's ability to make halfcourt shots.
