Schumer called the bill a bi-partisan effort as of Saturday Night

Pelosi torpedoed this and somehow the Senate Democrats thought it was a good idea to kill a bill that was going to give relief money to Americans that just lost their job.

People demanding relief aren't going to care about the reasons why their promised money was tanked, just that House Democrats killed it.

Pubs are just pissed they can't get what they want and are acting like babies. They should be blaming Rand for being a dumbass and costing them 5 votes.

I don't want $500 billion going to bail out hedge funds. Repubs are playing politics just as much as dems on this one, if they really cared about helping the average Joe, they'd back off on the $500 billion (which is almost as much as the entire bailout package in 2009) that they get to dole out at their "discretion" to their buddies at hedge funds, Fortune 500 companies (where most goes to the CEO's and top brass, the rest on stock buy backs) and other cronies. But yet somehow it's the dems who are playing politics. No sale...

Dan Patrick, the lieutenant governor of Texas, argued on Fox News tonight that he would be willing to “take a chance on” survival in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic if it means ensuring a prosperous country for future generations of Americans.
Patrick tonight acknowledged to Fox News’ Tucker Carlson he’s in the “high-risk pool” and while he’s following guidelines, “I’m not living in fear of COVID-19, I’m living in fear of what’s happening to this country.”
He went on to say, “No one reached out to me and said as a senior citizen, are you willing to take a chance on your survival in exchange for keeping the America that all America loves for your children and grandchildren. And if that’s the exchange, I’m all in.”

He's all in. With his gubmint Cadillac health plan.

Didn't these same people try to stop obamacare with tales of 'death panels'?

I agree that no one wants big corporations getting slush fund

but two important points

1. The Senate Dems agreed to that understanding that at some level, a federal bailout of companies keeps people employed - again - bi partisan

and
2. If this was what they were concerned about then they should have focused on it, instead of letting Pelosi come in and make a election year Xmas list that included diversity, carbon footprints, demands for election counts and union negotiations during a crisis where thousands of American lives are concerned

in the end, the house will pass whatever the Senate agrees upon and Nancy's Xmas list will fall to the way side - but not until the markets tank again , more people die and even more people suffer financial collapse

all because she wanted to score points during an election year.

You can argue the GOP proposals are wrong, but the case can be made that are in line with being an appropriate response to the crisis. You can't make that case for the Democrats and that is what is disgusting about all of this.

OK, I see, one side gets everything they want, the other side gets nothing. Bipartisanship at its finest...

Meanwhile, thanks to Trump's press conferences and tweets where he's spouting dangerous nonsense:

Man dies after taking chloroquine phosphate in effort to prevent coronavirus

"Trump kept saying it was basically pretty much a cure," the woman whose husband died told NBC.

no you don't see

If the Senate Dems agreed in large part to what was in the package, then its not about who gets what they want. Its not like they were steam rolled on this - 4 Repub Senators can't even vote now.

Pelosi is the shit stirrer here - Schumer was , from all indications, publicly on board with it as late as Sunday morning until Pelosi flew in to dismantle it.

I don't recall the president telling anyone to take a fish aquarium cleaner as the cure for the Corona Virus, do you?

I'm not saying it's Trump's fault that these people are idiots, but it certainly doesn't help anybody to be promoting shit that nobody has any clue about whether it's effective (if not outright dangerous) or not...

Why don't the Repubs want to help the hospitals, doctors, small business owners and the people losing jobs because of corporate greed? Because their rich buddies don't want them to. They want the money instead. Grandpa needs a new yacht.

Moronic to say the least. Woman is a nut job plain and simple. Hope voters remember this during the November election. The smart ones will.
