I'm surprised Crotch hasn't posted this in here yet...

On March 14 and 15, pro-Trump cable news network OAN aired a coronavirus special called Exposing China's Coronavirus: The Fears, The Lies and The Unknown. During that program, the network’s chief White House correspondent, Chanel Rion, suggested that the novel coronavirus responsible for the current pandemic may have originated in a North Carolina laboratory.

As support, Rion cited Greg Rubini, whom she described in the special as “a citizen investigator and monitored source amongst a certain set in the D.C. intelligence community.”

There is no evidence that Rubini is a “monitored source” for anyone but Rion. He has pushed wild “deep state” conspiracy theories on Twitter, where he has over 100,000 followers.

Rubini has said that the novel coronavirus “was GENETICALLY ENGINEERED as a Bio-Weapon at the Univ. of North Carolina BSL-3 Lab.” He has also said that it was spread from North Carolina to China, Italy, and elsewhere in the United States by the “Deep State” in a plot “to destroy the Trump economy.” In addition, Rubini suggested that Dr. Anthony Fauci, the well-respected head of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, personally funded the production of the virus, even calling him “Little Tony Fauci.” ...

Of course Chanel Rion is the little chink cunt who Trump praised for asking a "good" question at a recent press conference...

I wonder if this virus will reverse the long trend of people moving to crowded urban areas. Seems those are the areas that are hit hardest.

my biggest fear now is there is no way Americans are going to stay in place for 90-120 days - unless people are just dropping dead around them.

I drove by Home Depot and it was packed today

Why is everybody acting like staying at home is such a massive hardship? Or even a slight hardship? Jesus christ, having to get up and go to work everyday is a fucking hardship, not laying around on the couch and drinking beer and watching TV. What the fuck is wrong with people? This is a vacation, not a hardship...

Why don't we just quarantine everybody over 70 and let everybody else go ahead and get this and spread it around amongst the low risk population and then the vast majority of citizens will be immune, which in turn will be better for the Crotch-aged folks when we eventually let them out? Nobody really cares what happens to those people anyway, but why should we all have to suffer just so Crotch can live?

Looks like the Dems’ pathetic mantra of “TRUMP MISHANDLED THE CORONAVIRUS!! TRUMP MISHANDLED THE CORONAVIRUS!!“ is failing. A majority of Americans are not buying the latest Democrat lie. According to the new Rasmussen-wannabe, ABC/Ipsos...
An ABC News/Ipsos poll released Friday reports that 55 percent of respondents approve of Trump’s management of the public health crisis, while 43 percent disapprove. The latest figures represent a boost in the president’s rating from the previous iteration of the survey, published one week ago, which showed only 43 percent approval for Trump and 54 percent disapproval.
This attempt to blame Trump for the coronavirus will go the way of the “Trump Colluded With Russia,” hoax, “Trump Obstructed Justice” hoax, the “Trump Interfered With the Ukraine” hoax, etc etc etc. Don’t you Democrats get tired of losing?

I’ve been saying this from the beginning. No need to cancel anything. Just tell old people to stay home. If they don’t then it’s there own fault. Found out my wife’s sister up North has come down with corona today. She’s 57, they gave her an inhaler, sent her home and told her not to leave the house for 10 days. Kinda of like getting chicken pox when you were a kid.

those people that lived in a nursing home in Washington didn't bring it into the place - their care takers came into work sick

so quarantining the elderly sounds good until you factor in someone has to take care of them, and if you're going for herd immunity then 70%-80% of the population means you're essentially wiping out the elderly with this virus. It would be a true survival of the fittest situation.

staying at home is not the hardship, its what happens to the world around us because we're staying at home that is the hardship. The economy is going to crater - and given we are a service sector economy, along with the manufacturing - you can't do that kind of work at home. If they are truly saying this goes on for 90 days, 120 days - there will be massive unemployment in jobs that were once thought safe during a downturn, disruptions in supply chains, and small business, malls, franchise chains - that were all doing just OK during a robust economy are going to shutter.
The government is not going to give out enough money to save those business

while throwing shade on Trump for decisions made by his administration regarding pandemic preparation........

Coronavirus is causing working-age people to worry about missing paychecks, caring for kids home from school, stockpiling groceries and canceling plans. But people in their 50s, 60s or older have bigger worries. Many are lying awake wondering if this is how they're going to die.

At its most severe, coronavirus attacks the lungs, making it impossible to breathe without a ventilator. Landing in the hospital on a ventilator is bad. But worse is being told you can't have one. After learning that the state's stockpile of medical equipment had 16,000 fewer ventilators than New Yorkers would need in a severe pandemic, Gov. Andrew Cuomo came to a fork in the road in 2015. He could have chosen to buy more ventilators. Instead, he asked his health commissioner, Howard Zucker to assemble a task force and draft rules for rationing the ventilators they already had.

That task force came up with rules that will be imposed when ventilators run short. Patients assigned a red code will have the highest access, and other patients will be assigned green, yellow or blue (the worst) depending on a "triage officer's" decision. In truth, a death officer. Let's not sugarcoat it. It won't be up to your own doctor.

Cuomo could have purchased the additional 16,000 needed ventilators for $36,000 apiece or a total of $576 million in 2015. It's a lot of money but less than the $750 million he threw away on a boondoggle "Buffalo Billion" solar panel factory. When it comes to state budget priorities, spending half a percent of the budget on ventilators is a no brainer.

Now the pandemic is actually here. Cuomo's grim reaper rules will be applied. New York City's deputy commissioner for disease control Demetre Daskalakis is anticipating "some very serious difficult decisions." So far, in New York City, 1 out of every 4 people with a confirmed case has been hospitalized, and 44% of them have needed a ventilator.

The task force claimed there was no point in buying ventilators because there's also a shortage of doctors and nurses trained to use them. Five years ago, that problem could have been fixed, too. Even now, the National Disaster Medical System can send staff to hot spots like New York.

---------------------------------------------------

“After the swine flu epidemic in 2009, a safety-equipment industry association and a federally sponsored task force both recommended that depleted supplies of N95 respirator masks [...] be replenished by the stockpile.” The problem is that didn’t happen. According to Charles Johnson, president of the International Safety Equipment Association, about 100 million N95 respirator masks were used up during the swine flu pandemic of 2009-2010, but, he said was unaware of any “major effort to restore the stockpile to cover that drawdown.”

In short, even though the Obama administration was advised to replenish the national stockpile of the N95 respirator masks, they didn’t. Despite the fact the media traced the cause of the shortage back to 2009, they accuse Trump of poor planning and trying to deflect responsibility

Buried several paragraphs deep in the aforementioned Bloomberg story we find out that “after the H1N1 influenza outbreak in 2009, which triggered a nationwide shortage of masks and caused a 2- to 3-year backlog orders for the N95 variety, the stockpile distributed about three-quarters of its inventory and didn’t build back the supply.”

The buck stops with Obama then.

Maybe a couple of silver linings - Oxford U. says they may have a vaccine in 6 months. And Italy may have peaked....6500 new cases/793 deaths 2 days ago vs 5600 new cases/651 deaths yesterday.

I love these Governors blasting Trump for not providing leadership, Cuomo was just on saying that since different states have their own interpretation of stay at home and what essential is, that Trump should set a national standard

Yea..now they want Trump to put national laws in place they should follow, but when it comes to closed borders and immigration...no not so much, Trump leadership is racist, xenophobic and the states and cities know best how to control their people.

There are only so many ventilators out there - a manufacturing company in the states had to turn down an order for 2000 to Italy because they couldn't meet demand, so Trump is working with major manufacturers similar to a war time effort to change over their lines to start building high demand items like ventilators and masks

but he is going to get shit from the states for not providing leadership because he can't magically come up with ventilators for the Michigan governor and had the nerve to tell her to source her own

the people demand leadership from Trump I can't figure out - because whatever draconian thing he implements, they are going to reject it. What they really want is to Trump to take charge so they can demand he show favoritism to them - especially New York

Louisiana and Ohio essentially had the first reported cases of the virus within a 24 hour period (I have been told). Ohio went on the lockdown, Louisiana did not. Louisiana now has more than double the documented cases than Ohio has even though Ohio has more than double the population
