:::smh::: New Republic and NYPost reviewers panning the series...too morose, too one-sided (guess which side), too
defeatist. Not enough verve or esprit de corps...hey, we were on a mission
for good. Even the music gets a failing grade (too trippy).
Come to think of it,
The Civil War didn't make me want to click my heels and sing show-tunes either. Why does history have to be so sad?

"Even the music gets a failing grade (too trippy)."
I thought I saw during the credits that Trent Reznor was one of the composers of the original score...

It is appropriate that a documentary about Vietnam is morose and has bad music. It was that kind of war.
I guess if you prefer your Vietnam uplifting and with cool music, you can watch "Good Morning Vietnam," and listen to its amazingly good sound track.

Still tailgating? Saturday was a lot busier than I thought it would be. Good weather, late afternoon, and home opener will do that I guess.
We were in the media lot the last 30 seasons but the new AD sent us and several others packing. We're now at the Music Building (G-25 or some bs) and it's not the same. It was a tailgate per se...out on the asphalt with all the unwashed.
You still doing shots and live entertainment at G-10?
Once they built the new engineering building we moved to between G10 and Tboling. If you are on the pedestrian bridge connecting top of g10 and tboling and look down towards Fulmer Way we are setup along the wall that runs out from the east side ramp of tboling to the street right next to the street. Still have tallest flag pole (25') with USA, Trump MAGA, Don't Tread on me, than UT and tomorrow UT will be flown upside down as we are in distress.

Wow, I haven't heard anyone refer to Tennessee as being about big time cfb in years. You have more losing seasons than winning ones in the past decade, and a couple of those "winning seasons" were 7-6. And you lost to UNC in a bowl game what amounted to a home game for UT. Big time cfb!

I didn't watch a single play of the home opener. I stay at tailgate, but float like the social butterfly I am and talk all the girls who love me because they know I can't bang them.

I'm sure many of them are attracted to your 25 foot flag pole with the Trump flag on prominent display. When did you stop hoisting the stars and bars? That has to be a very recent development...

President Donald Trump blasted Iran on Twitter on Saturday for carrying out a ballistic missile test, but officials have now said the footage of the launch aired on Iranian state TV was fake.
According to Fox News, the video released by the Iranian government was more than seven months old. Two unnamed officials told the news channel the footage dated back to a failed launch in late January during which the missile exploded shortly after take-off.
Somebody please guard his phone. Kelly? Mattis?

Well, he'll always have the Tech game. Nobody can take that away from him.
Malzahn is probably a 8-4/9-3 coach too. We're a little afraid to fire him, though, because we don't want to run the risk of ending up like Tennessee - spending a decade enduring three failed coaches in a row.

Call it another dispute about the “settled science” of climate change.
According to a report published in Nature Geosciences last week, we have more time than we thought to stop the predicted meltdown of the planet. Not only are climate models way off—“running hot” by overestimating temperature increases—but the warming we were supposed to experience this century hasn’t happened as most climate models anticipated. What’s even more alarming to the climate tribe is that this study, “Emission budgets and pathways consistent with limiting warming to 1.5 [degrees Celsius],” is authored by several prominent climate scientists,, many of whom have warned of planetary doom if we don’t cap global warming within the 1.5 C range.
Of course, it wouldn't be "climate science" without some tinkering with the data to hide the truth:
Someone may have told Hausfather that his chart wasn’t exactly helping the cause, so he created another chart 12 hours later to show a more garbled version of climate models vs. observed temps...
Hausfather changed the Y-axis in order to show much less discrepancy between the range of climate model projections and temperatures. The first graph has a range of 1.5 C and the second has a range of 4 C. (When I asked him why he changed it, he said it was a “simplified” version of the first graph.) He also extended the timeline from 2020 to 2100 in an effort to justify the Y-axis change, even though the longer timeline is irrelevant to the Nature paper.

Trump's Tax Plan Could Squeeze the Middle Class - Bloomberg
and the best place to get this money may be the millions of Americans who use deductions and other such strategies to lower their tax bills.
Upper-middle-class taxpayers in particular could face a triple whammy. On the table are limits on—or even the elimination of—three of their favorite tax perks: deductions for mortgage interest and for state and local taxes and the ability to make pre-tax 401(k) retirement contributions.
These perks are popular with other taxpayers, too. Except for the very poor, Americans of all income levels can use 401(k)-style plans to lower their tax bills and save for retirement. The mortgage and local tax deductions are useful to the 30 percent of filers who itemize their tax returns. That includes 39 percent of filers earning $50,000 to $75,000 a year, 56 percent of those making $75,000 to $100,000, 77 percent earning $100,000 to $200,000, and 90 percent or more of those making $200,000-plus, Internal Revenue Service data show.
The wealthiest Americans, meanwhile, may have the most to gain from tax reform. The latest proposals include the elimination of the estate tax, which applies to estates of $5.49 million or more, and a cut in the top rate paid by rich individuals and business owners.
The takeaway: billionaire president appoints billionaire cabinet and gets multi-millionaire Congressional leaders to favor the wealthiest Americans wrt tax reform. #MAGA #DraintheSwamp!

Your team is 1-4 and just got whacked by a team we beat. Nobody in Chapel Hill really cares. We otoh are on suicide watch at 3-2. Therein lies the point.

I'd say no. There are 2 teams in the history of cfb who've never failed to win 5 games in a season...us and tOSU. Seems like we've always played at least 6 conference games a year....
