Nerds, yes. Gamers, no. And I'm not saying "just nerds" to imply that therefore it couldn't possibly really mean anything, the Third Reich was ruled by nerds and that type of thing is pretty fucking dangerous it turns out. But the groups these nerds are joining are small hardcore groups of fanatics. That said, the media coverage is all this is extreme and extensive. This is all thats happening right now as far as the news is concerned. Twitter, youtube, (and this website) is almost all people who feel the need to follow this and have their say. Any company would be fucking nuts to tie themselves into Trump. If I was a CEO and even was secretly a nazi, racist, oil tycoon, its easy to see that its better to distance yourself from all politics except to send out marketing that signals how virtuous and woke your company is, quitting this advisory council is an excellent way. I'm sure they all issued excellent press releases about it.

Not only was Lee opposed to Confederate memorials, "he favored erasing battlefields from the landscape altogether," Horn wrote.
He even supported getting rid of the Confederate flag after the Civil War ended, and didn't want them them flying above Washington College, which he was president of after the war.
"Lee did not want such divisive symbols following him to the grave," Horn wrote. "At his funeral in 1870, flags were notably absent from the procession. Former Confederate soldiers marching did not don their old military uniforms, and neither did the body they buried."
“His Confederate uniform would have been ‘treason’ perhaps!” Lee’s daughter wrote, according to Horn.
"Lee believed countries that erased visible signs of civil war recovered from conflicts quicker,” Horn told PBS. “He was worried that by keeping these symbols alive, it would keep the divisions alive."

I wonder if Trump is aware of museums? Seems like those are the right places to preserve history.

Trump bought a new hotel in Switzerland. They have some odd policies though. For example, they ask all Jewish guests to shower before using the pool. Seems unusual but, if we've learned nothing, it's that we've got to hear both sides. I'm sure there were some fine people that made those signs.
Gotta make bank while you can. Legal fees being what they are these days....

I would say the irony of this whole Charlottesville thing is that confederate statues will come down and this "cause" of white nationalism will become further marginalized, but it's not ironic, it's what always happens, eventually, in cases like this. The adherents to these bird-brained ideologies always, by mere fact of their public adherency, end up damaging their cause rather than promoting it. You'd think they'd learn, but fortunately almost all of the people who go in for this type of thing are pretty stupid. Some may be able to articulate their case (such as it is), but a modest level of erudition cannot hide their basic and glacial stupidity. That's really the main reason I am all for letting them spout off in public as much and as often as they like. They are always their own worst enemies...

Yesterday, Trump says he likes to wait for all the facts before he makes a statement. Today, he tweets out a long discredited email meme as a historical fact. For all the reasons he's absolutely unqualified to be president, perhaps his pure stupidity is tops (though the racism is pretty close).

This is what happens when you elect a petulant child to the highest office in the land. This is different than Comey or even Flynn. If you're not scared shitless right now about this idiot having the nuclear codes you're not very bright.

Another pyrrhic victory.....
COLUMBIA, Mo. — In the fall of 2015, a grassy quadrangle at the center of the University of Missouri became known nationwide as the command center of an escalating protest.
Students complaining of official inaction in the face of racial bigotry joined forces with a graduate student on a hunger strike. Within weeks, with the aid of the football team, they had forced the university system president and the campus chancellor to resign.
It was a moment of triumph for the protesting students. But it has been a disaster for the university.
Freshman enrollment at the Columbia campus, the system’s flagship, has fallen by more than 35 percent in the two years since.
The university administration acknowledges that the main reason is a backlash from the events of 2015, as the campus has been shunned by students and families put off by, depending on their viewpoint, a culture of racism or one where protesters run amok.....
Now, with budget cuts due to lost tuition and a decline in state funding, the university is temporarily closing seven dormitories and cutting more than 400 positions, including those of some nontenured faculty members, through layoffs and by leaving open jobs unfilled.

I join those Democrats in yearning for Obama to return to power. His presidency was a Golden Age for the GOP nationwide. Thanks to him and his extreme liberal policies, the Democrats lost 63 House seats, 10 Senate seats and 12 governorships. The reason is quite simple: he and the loony leftists tried to turn America into the Marxist utopia they have been dreaming of since Woodstock. The problem for them is, most Americans don't want it. That's why Trump is president.
Toe's article about Mizzou is case in point. The Left took over that college for a couple of days, and demonstrated their innate detachment from reality, intolerance and fascism for the whole world to see (In case you missed it, And the normal people who don't buy in to that Leftist wonderland have been making Mizzou pay for it ever since.
The same thing has happened to ESPN. When they stopped talking about sports and went on a campaign to propagandize their viewers to adore Bruce Jenner in a gown. The normal people have been voting with their TV remotes, and ESPN's ratings have been tanking ever since.
Same thing happened to the NFL. When they let players like Kaepernick, who made millions in their 20's, whine about how horribly racist America is, that part of America simply turned them off. The NFL's rankings are plummeting too.
The beautiful part is, the Mensheviks have whipped each other into such an incontinent state that they think the best way to get back into power is to double down on the same type of looniness that caused them to lose power in the first place. That Trump-Russia thing had them foaming at the mouth for six months, but is now clearly petering out. So now the latest shriek is that Trump and all Republicans are Nazi's. I am thrilled by that. Please, don't stop.

More popular than Trump:
oprama (by a ton), Mizzou, ESPN, the NFL (by two tons), Jenner and Kaepernick
Less popular than Trump:
neo-nazis, Putin (by a whisker)
