I wouldn't have wanted UK to face that UNLV team last night

They would've beaten most teams in the country last night. Still, I wasn't encouraged by our performance. It's one thing to lose to a team that's playing great, but that doesn't excuse playing like shit yourself...

I wish Alabama had played them last night. Alabama would have beat them badly. In fact, we are undefeated in hypothetical matchups.

Like I said, it reminded me of the UNC/UK tourny game last year. UK shot a better percentage from behind the arc, but both UK and UNLV hit a dozen 3's. Most teams that do that are going to win, esp. when the percentage is north of 40%...

One of the things that needs to happen is that UNC needs to discipline Barnes. His talent makes him want to play like a guard. Watching him take fade-away distance shots is nuts. He was dominant when receiving (and demanding) the ball inside. I just don't think he likes to play inside as much as he should.

Him taking jump shots and mid-range shots isn't a bad option for the offense, but he fucks up by fading away. He makes his shots more difficult than they should be. He needs to go straight up and release, not fall away.

Boeheim will have to backtrack on his support of Fine.

The college fired him today.

Bama beats VCU by a score of 72-64. Worst officiated game I've seen in a while. Glad to get the win and go 7-0 to start the year.

Next up, Georgetown, Thursday night.

Carolina's biggest problem Saturday night wasn't poor FT shooting or shitting rebounding or not defending the 3, it was the simple fact that UNC refused to set up a perimeter game when it was going nowhere inside. At one point, UNC was 3 for 4 from the arc and UNLV had made 10 or 11. I just don't understand the reluctance to adjust offensively and try to take some 3s (and Marshall's set shot from 28 feet doesn't cut it). Hairston was hot, Bullock barely tried and neither did STrickland.

Of all the things they did wrong, failing to use one of college basketball's biggest weapons when the post game was flat was the most perplexing.

And Henson took some terrible shots, goldie. he wasn't alone but his decision-making as well as execution stunk.

BTW, last night was a preview of how UNC's season will end in March.

just as I thought - Boeheim is now in save job first mode

"“The allegations that have come forth today are disturbing and deeply troubling. I am personally very shocked because I have never witnessed any of the activities that have been alleged,” said Syracuse coach Jim Boeheim in a statement. “I believe the university took the appropriate step tonight. What is most important is that this matter be fully investigated and that anyone with information be supported to come forward so that the truth can be found. I deeply regret any statements I made that might have inhibited that from occurring or been insensitive to victims of abuse.”"

Paterno, Fine. Who next? Dean Smith? You know you're thinking it.

Well, I don't know if that is "save job first mode." I mean, what should he say after the new information has come out? It was either that, or nothing. Nothing would have been worst.
