The firm won't protest if I go business class. They leave it at each partners' discretion, but I can't get myself to do that unless I have to go to the West coast. My annual CE trip to Vegas I usually upgrade, but this year it's $2k. Coach is bad enough at $875 so I am going coach for the four hours.
I have an Atlanta trip in a few weeks. Decided to drive the 3.5 hours rather than deal with the airport nonsense.

Exactly. I've got it through NEXUS. Which also means I don't have to stand in line for the border assholes either.

How do you get that? Through the airline? Over the summer our family was flying up North and my daughter somehow got this and I booked all our seats at the same time. She was able to go through and wait for us on the other side. Forgot all about it until now.

at one time they were also randomly allowing people to go thru the express line. I'm not sure why but it would just show up on your boarding pass.
I'm sure if your name was Mahommed you weren't going thru any express line.

I applied for global entry when I went to Ireland earlier this year. You fill out an application, wait a couple weeks while they do a background check, go to an airport or customs office to meet with a homeland security guy, and then you'll have a known traveller number. Then, make sure you are in the frequent flyer program for the airlines you use and that they have your known traveler number. Next time you fly, a little TSA Pre thing will be on the boarding pass and you can use the better line.

I'm flying to LA with 2 sons, 2 daughterinlaws, 2 grandkids and 1 wife thanksgiving--KC to LAX
that ought to be a cluster but at leastshould be able to choose who sits next to you
Southwest 25 dollar deal to borrd first is retarded as long as you can rember to call the day before you at least get a B number which guarentees you open rows in the back

Yeah, call exactly at the 24-hr mark and you'll usually be in the A group. Might be the end of the A group, but still. If any very small kids, you can pre- board (or at least someone can, and save seats).

It's because I'm returning Friday instead of waiting to Saturday. If I leave Saturday it would be about $450-$500. Normally I would love the extra night in Vegas, but I have familial obligations on Saturday.

$500 still sounds too high for a flight to Vegas. Been awhile since I've been, but it seemed like they were practically giving them away last time I went...

A 3.5 hour drive vs fucking around at the airport seems like a no brainer.
We flew to Vegas from Atlanta back in Sept - its was $500 leave thursday come home on sunday. Most I have ever paid.
