vacating wins is only a serious punishment if it's an important win. If this cost Bama a MNC then that hurts. Taking an ACC championship from GT hurts. Taking away a couple of 7-5 seasons and some muffler bowl loses from U*NC doesnt mean a damn thing. So from that perspective Bama stands to lose a whole lot more from this than UT or Miss St.

Taking away a MNC does nothing.

Taking a trophy out of a case means a whole lot more than some asterisks in a publicity guide.

Not really. They still won the game. You can't take away those memories by removing a trophy. It still happened.

DSL,
The NCAA can do whatever it wishes. Their precedence is to only vacate wins if a school knew, or reasonably should have known.

Game of the 21st century on CBS Sports at 3PM Eastern. And where will I be? I'll be sitting in the LA Coloseum watching what I hope will be Lane Kiffin's last game as a HC.

I am expecting nothing to come of this.
Besides, if any wins are vacated, they will be during the Mike Price era.

If the coaches or staff knew or should have known, I'm okay with a harsh penalty.

IF the NCAA actually lays down a harsh penalty anymore......Saban will simply take the Texas job the next day.
