If you keep a USGA handicap you turn in a card whereby you play it straight. We'll concede leather putts just to keep things moving, but that's it. You screw yourself by turning in scores that include mulls and moving the ball to suit you...things you can't do in competition.

Yes though Bob O'Link (my club) couldn't possibly be less like Indian Hill, the inspiration for Bushwood. Bob O is more like the actual caddyshack. We've got no pool, no tennis, no women, and virtually no rules. It's a great place.hedge wrote:"We see it every year in the club championship."
Are you still a member of the Caddyshack-like club?

Trump is definitely one of those guys who will bump his ball into a better lie even when it won't make any real difference. He's dishonest to the core and is always cheating even when it won't give him any real advantage.crashcourse wrote:I would think trump would be pretty good--not a 2 or 3 imagine he plays the ball down just because golf courses and that aspect is something he's done a long time.
didn't read the article but yeah we are all guilty of fudging things every once in awhile. Cletus once in a blue moon me we play it up because our golf course sucks down with a good course and trump maybe omewhere in between
tic I understand your Hirsch views but hes on tape his story makes sense he won a pullitzer prize and if you don't think DC is full of leakers looking to make a profit as opposed to the Russians somehow getting into her server--well especially in this climate leaking makes a helluva lot more sense

The British method is better. Only scores in competition count. If you come across a guy from the UK with a low handicap, he will crush you. Those handicaps are legit and they travel well.bluetick wrote:If you keep a USGA handicap you turn in a card whereby you play it straight. Heh. One of our regulars is a Brit..came here to run the US HQ of his dad's concert lighting company 15 years ago. Just got dual citizenship last year; thinks Trump is swell. Squatty with Popeye arms, he hit's it 300 yards and is a legit two. Introduced us to the "$5 breakfast ball." Funny as hell and a master of dialects. The most prejudiced person I know...all of it directed at the Irish.Cletus wrote:The British method is better. Only scores in competition count. Re: Puterbac News Network and Political Discussion Thread
Here's an old episode of Firing Line with Ann Coulter (who looks remarkable the same now as she did 20 years ago, I guess being a bloodless ghoul has its advantages), discussing the possibility of impeaching Clinton. I haven't gotten thru the whole thing yet, but I wonder if Ann is holding Trump to the same standards of "conduct" as she droolingly held Clinton to. Doubtful. Her whole point so far is that impeachment comes (or should come) far before any criminal case, it's there to ensure that people in high office maintain a standard of virtue commensurate with that office. Again, she was quick on the draw when it was Clinton in the cross hairs, I really do wonder what she thinks about the possibility of a Trump impeachment. He certainly comes in well under the threshold she has laid out so far in this segment, but for some reason I bet her views have "evolved" on the issue of impeachment...

14:07 mark, Coulter says "Obstruction of justice and lying to the American people are clearly impeachable offenses"...

And if Trump is caught getting a blow job from an intern (and then lying about it) then maybe it would be impeachable? That is because the said intern now has "blackmail power" over the man with the nuclear football who is a husband first, POTUS second. But lying about getting a call from a Boy Scout Leader? Meh.hedge wrote:Now she's really hammering the "lying to the American people" angle. Heh, what comes around goes around, eh, Annie?

I knew that post about Ann Coulter would bring IB out of seclusion.
At the current rate, it will take Trump another 20 years to equal the number of lies Hillary told the American people.

Exactly backwards, of course. Although neither of them likely has 20 years to do anything, mortality estimates being what they are.Professor Tiger wrote:

But the key stat is the number of lies Trump has told as POTUS: 200+. Hillary: 0.

Re: Puterbac News Network and Political Discussion Thread
The fact that Hillary is not POTUS and therefore not in a position to continue her Hillary's 20+ year public career of telling lies into the Oval Office, is indeed a key stat for which half the country is deeply grateful.
Her career of lies started way back in Arkansas with her explanation of her cattle futures trading scam. But the most recent were the classics, "My server arrangement was approved," and, "the emails I destroyed were about yoga and wedding plans," and, "I never sent or received emails marked classified," and "there is no evidence that my server was ever hacked," and "I never got a request from Ambassador Stevens for more security in Benghazi," and, "Benghazi was not a terrorist attack, but was caused by a youtube video." You know, things that endangered national security and got people killed. Yet, after all those lies, many of them under oath and therefore felonies, you had no problem voting for her.
Well, if you can do that, then I can be okay with Trump when he exaggerated the size of his crowds, or when he said ICE endorsed him when it was just their union, or when he said he was "wiretapped" when no actual physical wires were involved, or when he said the Republicans won 5 special congressional elections when they actually won 4, or whether there were 6 or 8 people in the room during the meeting between Junior and the Russian lawyers, or whether the call from the Boy Scouts was from their headquarters or from an individual leader, etc. Well, after reviewing all the chicken feed crap about Trump you liberals want to justify overturning an election, yeah, I think I can still support Trump. Absolutely. Every day and twice on Sunday.

Its strange that you think those are the concerns people have with Trump.
Of course you support him. You are a legitimately bad person and birds of a feather stick together.

LMAO. Nearly all of those items I posted that "are the concerns people have with Trump" came directly from one of the Trump Derangement Syndrome's leading bullhorns, the New York Times. They published a whole list of them. See for yourself: https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/201 ... -lies.html (Note to hedge, please note I said the New York Times, not Fox, as if that mattered anyway.)Its strange that you think those are the concerns people have with Trump.
Your side is so completely and emotionally unhinged about Trump you'd include overdue library books and jaywalking in the articles of impeachment you fantasize about.

And you would literally forgive anything, or at least make excuses for it and instead blame (fill in the blank with any of the myriad "enemies" of Trump that your fevered imagination lights upon first)...
