I don't care if he has six toes on each foot, six fingers on each hand, and a tattoo of each on his sunken chest... as long as he returns to last season's form.

of course, the O line has much to do with that. Didn't I say in the G,BIIT post we'd need to borrow three NFL draft choice O linemen??? Yeah...

G,BIIT...

Poor Alabama. They can barely survive with their undersized O-linemen like Cyrus Kouandjillo, who also happens to be a true freak of nature. What is his height and weight again?

So, what's the official Alabama line on their chances against aTm and Johnny football?

Fomer Tide player Luther Davis was acting as an intermediary between SEC players and NFL agents, delivering cash and other benefits, says Yahoo Sports.

Yahoo has financial statements, bank statements, wire transactions, and flight receipts linking Davis, three agents, and five SEC players in 2011-2012

In reading the article, Yahoo has a mountain of evidence that DJ Fluker was receiving gifts and cash from Luther Davis all throughout 2012.

It's kind of a pity that Auburn can skate and Bama gets served up to the NCAA so easily...there's no evidence that the school knew about anything, but looks pretty damning that Fluker was ineligible for the 2012 season.

Will the NCAA do anything to Bama, Tennessee, or Miss State? That's another question...

I heard about the DJ stuff a few months back. The Luther Davis stuff is new to me. None of it appears to be recruiting/competitive advantage related - just agent stuff. Aka Tank Black.

We should be okay. But who knows. You can never be assured of anything with the NCAA.

Worst case scenario for Bama is maybe vacating wins. That's about all I can see from this.

If the NCAA is not allowed to look at the same documents that Yahoo was given, then more likely nothing happens.

Unless they show that coaches or admin knew, I don't think we'll forfeit (or vacate, rather) anything.

the NCAA cleared Butch and the U*NC administration of knowing that the assistant coach was setting up meetings with and funneling money from agents to players but they forced U*NC to put an asterisk next to their wins and a disclaimer at the bottom of the page.

They can make you vacate wins if one of the following criteria is met: (a) a coach or staffer knew; or (b) failure to investigate in the face of sufficient evidence to suspect malfeasance (the reasonable and prudent person doctrine); or (c) any attempt to hide, lie, cover-up or quietly fix.

So, it's possible. We shall see. I do not believe the coaches were in on it, and with this not being a competitive advantage case, I don't think much will come of it. Could be wrong; we'll see.

Big difference. Nobody cares about UNCe football because they have never mattered on a national scale.

Are you sure about that? I thought wins could be vacated if an ineligible player was used, whether the staff was aware of his status or not.

At any rate, vacating wins is far from a serious punishment and that's about as far as I can see this going barring any other information.
