Come to think of it, I should probably vote for Biden. Help keep him in the race past Super Tuesday, split the moderate vote between him and Bloomberg

This nation is made up of all kinds of nuts and this nut has great appeal to all the other nuts out there. Hopefully there won't be enough nuts running around on Election Day to put this Socialist Nut in the White House.

According to comrade Bernie, we’re going to save $70 trillion just by averting the climate crisis. Free money!!

people voting for Bernie don't give a damn where the money comes from
They think Jeff Bezos, Mark Zuckberburg and Bill Gates will pay for everything for them
but I really think once the Dem leadership accepts that Bernie is going to be the nominee (assuming they don't put Hillary in at last minute at a brokered convention) Bernie is going to be able to focus his message
He'll say things like controlled costs for insulin, cancer drugs, epi pens - things that congress has allowed to blow up
and I assume under a medicare for all single payer plan, the government will be able to dictate costs to big pharma
I don't know - The republicans better figure out a way to get Millineals and Gen Z on board with the hope that there is a future in capitalism which one can argue at the moment is corrupted.

Billionaires dont have enough money. And to get at it, you're also going to have to build a nationwide appraisal bureaucracy just to even start any kind of wealth tax, so its going to cost us money and hassle just to start.
The only real money that someone like Sanders will likely be able to actually pass is going to come out of savings. They're going to pass a tax on stock and bond market transactions for a percentage of every trade. So everybody who's got savings, all the funds and managers when they make trades, all the index funds when they are re balancing...and the beauty is that even while your savings are going down in a bear market, the government will still be slurping up everyone's savings in those times too.

true, but how many people making $70K or less a year are going to be affected by stock transactions? So they pay $27 more a year in fees that they don't even know about or see tied to a 401K plan.
Bernie's tune is the same as Obama's - distribution of wealth - except he has a multi-faceted plan where Obama just wanted to give poor people health care in exchange for letting big pharma and health care providers soak the middle class.
I am really concerned that years of essentially ignoring the working poor has come to the point that its going to result in a voting revolution.

"people voting for Bernie don't give a damn where the money comes from"
Considering the debt that has been run up in this century, I'd say you could replace Bernie's name with anybody who has run for the presidency...

It's kinda hard not to notice the tone of several of your posts here of late. Here's hoping all is well with you and yours (seriously - not being a smartass).
Personally, unfortunately, I show zero empathy around this place - here I'm all about unloading on that guy in the WH - 24/7, in all kinds of weather. It's cathartic in some respects, but only temporarily - kinda like porn. Maybe a lot like porn..heh.
Anywho - pay no attention to the ramblings of an old man. I'll be 84 in May...if the yellow fever doesn't get me. 60+ years aTm's senior I am....

oh no I'm fine - I just think people are underestimating the appeal of Bernie to millions of people who are motivated to vote. I'm not going to vote for him of course but I can't say that if I was 25 years old I wouldn't. I think Trump pitching status quo is going to cost him votes, but if he goes overboard like McCain did in his attempt to beat Obama, the GOP will abandon him and declare he is a liberal like they knew all along.
JFC, are you serious, you are going to be 84?
man, I never would have guessed it. I see you in a whole new light now. You are very well connected to all of this for 84. Matter of fact I'm having a hard time believing it.
