College basketball is horrible this year

You can say that again. Carolina has 36 in the first half and I'm excited...

Spoke too soon. 4 minutes gone in the second half and we're still on 36. UCLA with a 10-0 run. Sigh...

I wouldn't be surprised if we win today and I wouldn't be surprised if we get run out of the gym

Not surprising, and probably not the wrong move, but disappointing...

if that slow white boy hadn't got Church League hot, this would have been a blow out.

UK could definitely win it all this year, not b/c they are dominant but b/c anybody in the top 20 (and probably a few not in the top 20) could win it all this year...

our best scorers go to move is to run into a standing defender or to jack up a 3 pointer 5 foot behind the line.

We ain't winning shit this year and the natives are letting Cal know it.

I'm not saying UK is going to win it all this year, I'm saying they have just as good a chance to as about 25 other teams. Hell, Carolina could win it all this year, or, like UK or any of the other 25 teams that could win it all, we could easily lose in the first or second round of the tourny, and there is actually also a chance that we won't even make the tourny this year. It's that bad a year in college hoops this year...

I'm not sure we'll make the tournament. Yesterday we played well enough to be a tournament team but that was coming off a loss. We lose to UL and we may not have a marquee win all season, but two horrible losses that wipe out Michigan St.

I wouldn't worry about that, you've got 18 SEC games (as always) to pad your record. You've already won 8 games, it shouldn't be too difficult to add 14 or 15 wins in the SEC, that will be plenty sufficient to get you into the tourny. Meanwhile, we just lost 4 in a row, our only NBA caliber player is out for at least 6 weeks and who knows if he'll even return at all, and of course we've got to play our usual ACC schedule. We really could miss the tourny this year, but if we do get Anthony back, we could sneak into the tourny and possibly win it all...

I hope everyone has something to feel good about over the holidays.

This is the first time in maybe 25 years I am not spending it with extended fambly and just staying home with the wife and kids.

I feel a little off, like its not really Christmas. I haven't even watched Its a Wonderful Life yet, although I did binge watch like 4 different versions of A Christmas Carol. I just watched the latest one at the gym last night. It was actually pretty good, with Guy Pierce

anyways, I'll be around because its boring as shit here, but my hope is that all of you aren't because you've got better things to celebrate.

London sounds cool

wouldn't be the holidays at my house if someone didn't get mad and storm out at some point.

It's a Wonderful Life comes on tonight at 8, already got it on record. Hopefully will pass out around 7 and then wake up at 10 and be able to watch it in 90 minutes fast forwarding thru the commercials. The MIF's oldest daughter arrived with her know-it-all boyfriend and their two yappy dogs about an hour ago, the youngest daughter and her boyfriend (who we love) are spending the evening at his fambly's house, so we're stuck here with the lame-o's and their (again) yappy dogs. These are definitely the tweener years for us, the kids are too old to really be excited about Christmas, nobody believes in Santy Claus and it's all about money and booze. But take heart, grandchildren are on the way, probably sooner than we can imagine. Then it'll be fun again, with unformed lumps of clay that we can mold to our will and who will love us unconditionally until they learn the meaning of money. OK, maybe a few years after that too. The MIF just brought in a bottle of Karo syrup that she couldn't get the top off of, I swole myself up and pretended to really be straining and screwed it right off. Her hero. It's nice to be needed for something, I guess. Despite everything, it actually is a wonderful life...
