I loved how Dennis Deyoung admitted that Tommy's interview to be STYX's newest member, was all of figuring out of he could hit the high note on Lady and if he could, he was hired to replace John.

There were only 6 people playing (including me) with a $10 buy in, but that's what I felt like last night...

The best part was later in the game, when I had a big pile of chips and the bet was on me, I would look over at the guy with the least chips and ask "how much have you got there?" and he would tell me and then I would bet that amount. Bye-bye, loser!

amazing how differe nt they play on TV
where I play usually 3-7 people limp in and you have to try to chase them out with big bets otherwise even if you are the best hanbd odss are you wont win.
tournament play its always just 2 players and rarely does it get to the river

so tell me what you think of this. My brother in law raises cows for a retirement hobby. They're grass-fed so when he butchers them, we get a 1/4 cow for the year and put it in the freezer. Well, he brought this year's beef by last Thursday and I put it in my freezer in the garage out back. Today I went in to get something and smelled a not quite foul odor but a heavy one and bam! the freezer door was open 4 inches. I have no idea how it happened and I've been in the garage 1-2 times since I put the meat in the freezer.
Anyways, it was frosted over and a lot of the meat was still frozen but the 2 wire racks had thawed. Still cold but thawed and there was blood dripping down to the bottom tray and out onto the garage floor. I also had our friends' 1/4 in there so that's $480 worth of beef potentially bad. Does anyone have any experience with this sort of thing? I separated the packets that had thawed from the still frozen or partially frozen ones and brought a pack of hamburger that had thawed in to test it.
It smelled OK both raw and frying in the pan and I ate half a patty and it tastes great. I guess I'll find out tonight or tomorrow if it's gone bad but I might not be a great test subject since my gut has been known to handle things that would kill children.
So if it's OK should I tell our friends that some of it partially thawed? They might demand their money back (although I'm storing it for them for free) and then I'd have a 1/2 cow of potentially slightly bad beef. I'm in a biological and ethical quandary and need some answers.

had that happen to me and I put a velcro strip on the freezer door to make sure it never happened again.
if you cook the meat completely it will kill any bacteria but as for taste? I can't say I have ever cooked half spoiled meat before.

I'll let DS handle this. He deals with tainted meat all the time.

It'll be fine. Refrigeration (much less freezing) is a very new technology. People have been eating un-cooled and un-frozen meat for thousands of years. Also, the best steak houses dry their meat for weeks before serving it. Go look at the sausage counter in Dortches, they have the those 12 foot links just hanging in a closet and outside as well. Plus you said half your shit was still mostly frozen and what wasn't was still cold. Eat that shit!

I passed some stockyards the other day let me handle this
as long as you give the buddy the frozen stuff and not 1 of the 2 wire racks I wouldnt worry about it.
as far as the unthawed parcels go shouldnt be much of an issue --I imagine your brother in law might use antbiotics --I dont know if that federal or not but it sure minimize things. the two wire racks have been thawed out eat over the next few days or cook and freeze again

Ok, I've stayed in a Holiday Inn before.
Are you dead? If not, throwing up? If not, bent over holding your stomach?
OK. Serve it.
