admittedly as a whole, I didn't like Texas - too dry and hot for me. I only lived there for a year. I eventually decided that the deep south wasn't for me either.

I don't particularly feel like promoting the mid west, but its my comfort zone

i would say 90% of the time the answer would be no for guys like him. slow g target--head shot x 2 single action bolt all in what 7-8conds from about 75 yards or so shooting down from a 5th floor. hard to say how much experience he had with that rifle the 6 mos he had it but it seemed to be wrapped in a blanket most of the time. guys that were fairly experiemnced that recreated thos shots only got 2/3 within 7 seconds about 50% of the time

Bill James' contention that Kennedy was shot by a secret service agent is an interesting one. When you read his take on it and his run through the evidence, it seems compelling.

Why would you not take the shot when he was coming straight at you - but wait until he had turned away from you at an angle and almost got to the bridge?

Cletus - I will have to check that out - we were there on Labor Day weekend and one of the tour guides agrees with the secret service angle - that was the first time I had ever heard that.

Okay, this trip, because my wife is with me, done Gilley's, Ft. Worth Stockyards, Dealey's Plaza, Texas State Fair, and about a dozen BBQ joints.

On that last point: Alabama BBQ > Texas BBQ.

UT-OU hate at the Texas State Fair is cute. Young lady that weighed about three bills had a "Tuck Fexas" shirt on in the Ferris wheel line. Her man looked like a skinny Adam Sandler with a mullet. Some longhorn fans in front of them asked her if it was hard to find that shirt in 5X. Mullet Sandler said something unintelligible and longhorn fan then asked out loud, to no one in particular, why all Sooners were trailer trash. Security then pulled them both outta line.

Anticlimactic.

Speaking of abandoned places. The long-closed TWA terminal at JFK - which still looks better than many other terminals there. Don't know why this couldn't be taken over by another airline:

Yeah, flying has become Greyhound bus service. You know there will be some fat woman next to you who is wearing dirty sweatpants and trims her toenails on the flight.

My last three flights have had at least one leg a total shit show for me. Fat passengers. Body odored passengers. Delays. All manner of fuckery. I hate that my firm won't pay for business class on flights less than 5 hours. It's not 2009 anymore.
