I can't believe that I just got around to watching the first episode of Shameless last night. This is my kinda show...

Watching Carolina vs. Alabama now in the Bahamas tourny. We might just squeak this one out, but it's been a sloppy affair...

He couldn't have done it for long, Woody Durham started announcing UNC football and basketball in the late 60's...

Welp, I don't feel so bad about losing to Michigan yesterday, they just routed Gonzaga by 20 points. They're a pretty good team. We bounced back today as well and beat a good Oregon team. Still, we're not really that good yet, but I think we can get there by March...

Michigan looked horrible last night, that game was unwatchable - and so I turned it off with a few minutes left in the half.

I checked the score and neither team broke 60 points.

College basketball is horrible this time of year. I don't remember it being like this years ago and I'm afraid UK has played a big part in that.

Of course I agree that UK is the scourge college basketball, but I'd be interested in hearing your elaboration on that point...

I don't know, I'm just convinced that college basketball in November was a different quality of play before the one and done era.

Now, we don't play anyone at home in Rupp, attendance has fallen off and if you watch the game you get to see a shit show as he is trying to teach kids fundamentals.

Cal 2 weeks ago had to beg fans to attend games - I never thought I'd hear that. And he readily admits that we will continue to play nobody teams in November and December because he doesn't want the teams confidence shot by having 3 losses (as in Michigan St as of now)

I can tell you I'd much rather watch Michigan St play real teams right now than UK play these warm up teams, and yea, I'd be pissy if UK lost 3 games but there is no pride in winning against Utah Valley and a loss to Evansville is much worse than Va Tech, UK and Duke combined.

Of course the trade off is we were a final four regular for awhile and we are always in the discussion for national title, something that trailed off from about 2005 - 2009, but Cal in his last 4 years has a very Tubby Smithesque level of achievement with the program.

And now he has is own version of Gardner Webb/Penn St to add to it this year.

I'd say you're being a little generous in your time frame of UK being a Final Four regular...

Since Cal has come to Kentucky he is 6-3 against Carolina and Carolina was ranked in the top 20 for every one of those games except 1.

before Cal we lost 5 straight.

Big difference b/w beating Carolina in December and being a final four regular. All I was pointing out is that UK wasn't a final four regular for a lot longer than 2005-2009...
