FWIW, the stock market soared under Obama, too, far greater in percentage terms than under Trump...
Only "far greater" in the sense that Obama was President for longer than Trump has been. It's true that the S&P 500 went up 167% percent under Obama, and has "only" gone up 49% under Trump, but if Trump ends up being President for 8 years and his trend continues, his number would end up being 182%

The annualized increase from 1/20/2009 through 1/20/2017 in the S&P 500 was 12.28%.

The annualized increase from 1/20/2017 through today in the S&P 500 is 12.95%

Basically the same long term trend since the financial crisis.
Sure, I could have stayed in the past. I could have even been king. But in my own way, I am king.

they do subsidize my health care, that's the scary part - and I still took a $5600 hit in one year. but that is for a family plan. I am not unique though

Anyone on Obamacare has those kind of deductibles as well. The difference is, if you're poor, the government pays for it.

"Basically the same long term trend since the financial crisis."

But it's all b/c of Trump, even retroactively...

Remember when Clinton (who wasn't even in office at the time) had a chat with Loretta Lynch on the tarmac of some airfield a few years ago? Seems like that set the repubs hair on fire as "undue influence" (again, even though Clinton held no office at the time) on the AG. Don't seem to hear too much about Trump's "influence" on justice department decisions these days...

Got a chuckle out of "if his trend continues." Of course, if it doesn't, it won't be his fault...

true

but in this case, Trump isn't trying to save his own skin, he is just lashing out what he (and many Americans) perceive as vindictive justice. 4 Democratic Prosecutors recommending a sentence on Stone that they can't justify as reasonable.

I believe this was intentional on their part to involve Barr and Trump. They push for an extreme sentence that requires Barr to come in an "play favorites for Trump" and then they resign in protest and become heroes to the left

and people get to form their opinions that Barr is in the bag for Trump

Barr is more against rogue agents that believe they are obligated to resist a sitting president.

I'm glad he is in office, I'd ready for all of these guys to lose their pensions

its being reported that Trump has removed 70 people from the National Security Council

I'm not sure if thats accurate but not surprising if true

8 of the 12 people that testified against him have been removed from their positions.

Its pay back time. I hope it was worth it to them to be pawns of Adam Schiff

It actually won't be his fault. The president (any president) certainly has some effect on the overall economy, but I would say it's negligible. The funny thing is going to be, if Trump gets reelected and the economy starts to falter (or worse), he's not going to be able to do a damn thing about it and will certainly start to blame it on all sorts of things and people (which is what he does best). I get that most people like to take credit and deflect blame, but Trump is truly the alltime master of it. But it will be fun to watch him squirm as it becomes obvious to everyone that he has close to zero control over the economy...

John Kelly Finally Let's Loose on Trump - The Atlantic
https://www.yahoo.com/news/m/d7427ed0-1 ... loose.html

Apparently the vendetta against Lt. Col. Vindman was the last straw. The president's former Chief of Staff is now denouncing nearly all things Trump.

Or maybe Kelly and Bolton also became pawns of Adam Schiff, as well as Sondland and Taylor. Schiff is THAT good - that he can get Trump appointees to turn on their master. Payback notwithstanding.

John Kelly got a serious case of the red ass when Trump overrulled his demand to have perpetual war in Syria
