I always liked the line: "You danced with a lady with a hole in her stocking."

Good song. Does she write them herself?

What do you take her for? Some sort of singer/songwriter? You crazy.

I always envy people like Heather. Born in Bermuda, spent her early childhood living on a boat cruising the seas, schooled in New England, studied film, lived briefly in New York before settling in London where she struggled and the gained success in music, then married and moved back to Bermuda, where she lives with husband and her son.

I can only dream of such a life.

I was raised to follow the rules. Live like everybody else. Go to school where you learn to do a nice safe job. Be ordinary. Be safe, a slave to common notions of what is good, and I'm still stuck in that trap, like an ant caught on fly paper. The programing is so strong, I can't escape it no matter how bitter I feel about it. Lord I hate my parents, their lack of spirit, their traditional POV, their suffocating doctrinaire notions of what life should be.

I try to go my own way, but I live with a chain around my neck keeping me from wandering more than a few yards from where I was born. The only freedom I know is inside my head.

I'm happy for Heather; she is not like me.

yeah..i think she does write most of her own stuff and as for her life...?.........i guess it's hers and mine is mine...it's what makes us who we are..so i suppose if you had her life..you wouldn't be you...that would be sad..

You know,I love most of the music you post, but that version of Brown Sugar is too slow for this old Stones fan.

I'm sure everyone is familiar with the original, but I'm posting it just to show how different interpretations of the same song can sound. I love this song anyway so it gives me a chance to listen to it again.

There's no video so it's purely an audio experience.

Red Bird don't steal bread from the mouth of decadence, she just whines about it on the internet.

You'll probably think I'm completely out of touch when you read this, but before I watched that Video, I didn't know who Eddie Vetters was. I was vaguely familiar with Perl Jam, but I never paid much attention to them.

Anyway, that's a fantastic, terrific song. AN instant favorite for me. Thanks for sharing it. :D

Stealing bread from the mouth of decadence might be dangerous.

I'm not brave - maybe
