I'm on a call with a bunch of people in the Washington DC/Martinsburg area...they're all freaking because they just felt a small earthquake...

They evacuated the court house here because the building was shaking.

That was pretty good, actually.

Houston's highs for Thursday through Sunday are forecasted to be between 105 and 107. That almost never happens. Houston actually doesn't get mamy 100-degree days in a single year (the heat indecies are often in the 100s but not the actual temperature). This year, however, has been a record breaker for all of Texas. But for the highs to get up to 107 here is just flat out crazy. Plus we''ve had like 5 snow days in the last five years--even crazier. And now you've got earthquakes jumping off in Virginia... 2012, bitches.

I think I could be happy living in San Antone or Austin.

the cities are alright but I have no desire to live in droughts and 100+ degree temps all the time.

Well, I live in Alabama. We already have droughts and 100+ days.

End times.

Having lived in both Texas and Alabama, my most enjoyable experience was seeing them in the rear view mirror - at least when thinking of the summer months.

then again, I just like cold weather. I'd take 20 degrees over 100 degrees any day of the week and twice on Sunday.

That sounds like a country song.

I have no doubt that your experience in both places must have been beyond bad. After all, you live in Cinci now, and if Cinci is better than where you lived before...well, just let me say that on behalf of the states of Texas and Alabama, we apologize for whatever horrors you must have experienced .
