I wish we were talking about someone taking a sledge hammer to your head, but, alas, that isn't the case.

Hey DS
by random chance, I stumbled across this letter to the editor thing about a disbarred attorney named Bob Miller. Sounds likes some crazy shit going on down in your neck of the woods with him

Pamlico County is three counties and an eternity away. Outside of Oriental, it's as impoverished and backwards as anything the Deep South has to offer...

The state bar is about as transparent as the Gestappo. That I will concede. The rest seems fairly one sided. I would want to know the other part of the story.

I figured that would kinda be big news. But the news story about it just dies a few days after it happens. No follow up - at least on the internet, nothing. I don't know if he even lived.
Only reason I stumbled on it is because he shares the same name with the guy that owns the old yacht that is beached on some branch of the Ohio river.

I would put Halifax and Northampton counties ahead of Pamlico on the squalor scale. Basically anything in north central to northeastern NC that's not on the coast.

True. They don't have the influx of retiree money. At least Halifax county has the Brother of Dolly Parton Theater! lmao

That's one of the great stories in eastern NC in the last half century. How Randy Parton played those rubes (this is the part of the state where people complained that solar farms would suck up all the sunlight) for a shitty theater on I-95.

That you can commit a mass shooting with one and claim you didn't touch the trigger...

its been known for a long time - but 60 minutes did a story about the bad triggers on the Remington 700.
I'd heard about these problems many many years ago, but going by 60 minutes, Remington is doing all they can to keep it quiet.
used some horrible examples of irresponsible gun ownership though.

There have been several lawsuits against Remington over the years for trigger/firing pin issues related to the 700 and other models. Joe Jamail nailed them. It was one of his first major cases, iirc.
