Heh. Saturday, a group of fifth/sixth grade types were playing a few holes behind our foursome. Our group knows their fathers. My partner had pulled his drive into a trap that was about twenty yards from the tee box on a par five. The kids were playing from the white tees and waiting to tee off. The group ahead of them were 275 out at the bottom of a hill. My partner jokingly admonished them for having too much ego and slow play when the kids said they were waiting because they could reach the group at the bottom of the hill. My partner said they were full of shit, and then each of the kids blasted their drives 260+.

Not surprising. Didn't see this coming 5 months ago or even in January but it's the right thing for him to do. Staying in school is probably not going to improve his draft stock if he's top 10 now.

Just texted him but he's probably got his phone off. Then again, he probably still remembers the first question of the first interview I did with him when he was in 10th grade and I called him, "Cody," before quickly correcting myself. It was too late. I could see the hurt in his eyes and I knew that one day, he would make me pay.
