Not really. He has been making a name for himself in NBA coaching circles.

If he succeeds at Vandy, I could see him getting the UNC job in five years if he and Hubert Davis can coexist with Hubert playing the role of Guthridge.

I wonder if Doc's illness contributed to that. I don't know what type of work he did or what Bonita does but she's no dummy. She seems like a teacher. Will, who played for Marvin Bowman at Eastern Wayne, was an asst coach at Mars Hill. Not sure what his sister does but they're a great family as much as I can tell. Coby was a good student in high school and I never heard anybody say anything negative about him.

I hope to interview him.when he comes to town again, which may be soon. Maybe he'll give me an exclusive

When I was in the Goldsboro office, I handled a lot of cases against an attorney who is on the Greenfield board. She always spoke highly of Coby.

Marvin Bowman is still around? Does he still have the flat top? He wasted a lot of talent at EW back in the day because he couldn’t coach his way out of a paper bag.

That was 11 years ago. Coby is much younger than his brother and sister.

no head coaching experience landing a job at a school in a P5 conference?

I think this was more about Vanderbilt feeling their options were a bunch of retreads that were fired for failing somewhere else rather than Stackhouse being the obvious choice for them.

Last night I read it still wasn't a done deal as reported. He will be an interesting hire, but just as I have a hard time seeing him succeed at Vanderbilt, he'd have to turn them into a championship contender year in and year out to get the Carolina job

"I don't know for sure but I have gotten the distinct impression the Whites are comfortably middle class, even with Doc passing away in 2017. Bonita certainly doesn't come off as a mom who would push her son to do something for money. If anything, I would think she might be cautious about sending her baby boy into the NBA wilds"

Robin Bailey (mutual friend of mine and Stu's) who works at Greenfield and knows Coby pretty well told me he's gone if there is even a possibility that he gets taken in the first round. I think he is undoubtedly going to be a lottery pick and probably in the top 10. He gone!! That's alright, it opens the door for Cole Anthony, who I think would be coming to UNC even if Coby was still there, but with Coby gone and his only competition being Seventh Woods, I think he's going to have visions of being what Coby was for us this year. That's a high bar, but I bet that will be his thinking...

"Asking a Bammer fan to support Auburn would be like asking a Louisville fan to support Kentucky.............."

See, this is the real source of our current political division. If hilljacks from Kentucky and high school dropouts from Alabama, who are in absolute lockstep socially, culturally, politically, religiously (hell, most of them are blood kin) can hate each other that much, it's not surprising at all that people who are completely different in all those areas could and would hate each other even more. The common refrain around here from NCState fans back in the day was that if Russia (then the USSR) was playing Carolina, they'd pull for Russia. Not much of a leap that if the president they support is in cahoots with Russia in opposition to all those libruls, they're going to pull for Russia...

I read it was down to Cronin or Jamie Dixon. Man I hope Mick gets it. UC needs new leadership.

Easy one..... Kentucky Basketball fans. No championship banners for at least another 10 years. Either Dook or unc will pass them up in the next 10 years. Hope I'm alive to see the meltdown of BBN.
