HEH x 2 and Truth.
Sure, I've been called a xenophobe, but the truth is, I'm not. I honestly just feel that America is the best country and the other countries aren't as good. That used to be called patriotism.

I'm guessing this is not what most readers of Rolling Stone's political opinion expect to have turn up in their morning surf.

https://www.rollingstone.com/politics/p ... ia-924944/
There are too many to list in one column, but the Horowitz report show years of breathless headlines were wrong. Some key points:

The so-called “Steele dossier” was, actually, crucial to the FBI’s decision to seek secret surveillance of Page.

...

Horowitz ratifies the oft-denounced “Nunes memo.”

...

The “Steele dossier” was “Internet rumor,” and corroboration for the pee tape story was “zero.”

...

Steele in his “reports” embellished his sources’ quotes, played up nonexistent angles, invented attributions, and ignored inconsistencies. The FBI then transplanted this bad reporting in the form of a warrant application and an addendum to the Intelligence Assessment that included the Steele material, ignoring a new layer of inconsistencies and red flags its analysts uncovered in the review process.

Then, following a series of leaks, the news media essentially reported on the FBI’s wrong reporting of Steele’s wrong reporting.

The impact was greater than just securing a warrant to monitor Page. More significant were the years of headlines that grew out of this process, beginning with the leaking of the meeting with Trump about Steele’s blackmail allegations, the insertion of Steele’s conclusions in the Intelligence Assessment about Russian interference, and the leak of news about the approval of the Page FISA warrant.

...

No matter what people think the political meaning of the Horowitz report might be, reporters who read it will know: Anybody who touched this nonsense in print should be embarrassed.
Sure, I could have stayed in the past. I could have even been king. But in my own way, I am king.

That’s an adult, sane response. But you could have done that without the three year hysteria. In fact, you would have had better chance against a Trump using the democratic process instead of attempting a coups. Trump’s numbers have gone UP during the attempted coups, not down. And that is true in places like Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Michigan, and a Minnesota. According to the Nate Silver’s notoriously Trumptard Five Thirty Eight;

When the vagina hat people scream and scream for three years over nothing, normal sane people tune them out.
“We hold these truths to be self-evident… by the — you know — you know the thing.” - Democrat Presidential Candidate Joe Biden

Hard to get a teaching position in the state of Kentucky with a 6th grade education...maybe in Ohio but not Kentucky. Try Masters degree in Secondary Education son.

No kidding. With that level of education in Kentucky, you'd be up for governor or senator, not teacher...

Business
Trump promised to eliminate America's budget deficit. But government spending just pushed the 12-month total past $1 trillion for the 2nd straight month.

at the end of the day

there was no investigation of Biden by Ukraine

there was no hold up of the weapons/money promised by the US (which, btw, Obama would not provide)

and this, by Washington standards - based on a phone call is an impeachable offense.

Only in Washington, would a sitting president, be impeached for an offense that did not happen for asking a country to investigate a candidate and likely nominee for committing a crime that everyone acknowledges happened. The insanity of this is no one cares that what potential future president Joe Biden did as Vice President is just as serious, if not more

I understand the bipartisan and hypocrisy of people in these types of matters, but I can say with complete honesty if this situation was reversed, I would not be calling for Biden's head in asking for Trump to be looked into

Matter of fact, the second part of all this, a fabricated Steel dossier which the FBI now admits was fraudulently altered to justify the FISA is meddling with an election and again, no democrat seems to care.

This is seriously some fucked up set of standards people calling for Trumps head are applying here

and its based on nothing more than a serious hatred of this man. Its not tied to any sense of fairness or balance, or seeking justice.

How in the hell can the FBI admit that lower level management falsified information to justify a FISA warrant and then say with a straight face they were correct in pursuing the FISA warrant?

I also believe there is very little doubt at this point that the FBI at many levels including acting director abused their power to insure a Hillary Clinton presidency.

"the FBI used what should have been a routine intelligence briefing of the Trump campaign to pursue its investigation. It happened in August 2016, when the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) briefed both the Trump and Clinton campaigns. For the Trump group -- a session that included the candidate himself and also FBI target Michael Flynn, a top national security aide -- an FBI supervisor from the Crossfire Hurricane team attended to see if Trump's or Flynn's behavior might reveal some evidence in the case. "No one at the [Justice Department] or ODNI was informed that the FBI was using the ODNI briefing of a presidential candidate for investigative purposes," Horowitz wrote. After the briefing, the agent wrote up a report on what he heard.

At Horowitz's appearance Wednesday, Senate Judiciary Committee chairman Lindsey Graham asked, "Was that FBI agent spying on Donald Trump?"

"It was a pretext meeting," Horowitz answered. "The agent was actually doing the briefing, but also using it for the purpose of investigation."

In short, the FBI, acting under false pretenses, spied on Trump and Flynn in plain sight."

keep in mind, they knew they had no evidence - the Steele dossier was bogus, their own operatives determined that when investigating it prior to this meeting

yet they made the decision to go in and spy against a candidate for president of the United States.

how you define a legislative coup if not this?

"there was no hold up of the weapons/money promised by the US"

Where are you getting your news from? This is the whole basis of the impeachment and you're just plain saying it didn't happen? It did...

"Only in Washington, would a sitting president, be impeached for an offense that did not happen for asking a country to investigate a candidate and likely nominee for committing a crime that everyone acknowledges happened."

What crime? I have heard plenty of people (mainly Trump) accuse Biden of some crime, but I've never seen anyone "acknowledge" it, certainly nobody in Trump's Justice Dept., which, you'd think if a crime had occurred, they would've been on it like flies on shit. But so far (3 years and counting), nothing. So who are these people you speak of who "acknowledge" Biden's "crime"? Tucker and Hannity??

On October 3rd, the U.S. sold Ukraine the Javelin missiles under Trumps direction - and who wanted Ukraine to have Javelin missiles? Joe Biden. He initiated all that back in 2014-15

as for what crime, there may not be any on the surface, but he was peddling influence to get his son in a positive cash flow situation for a job he was not qualified for, in a country and specifically an industry completely corrupt - and under the annexation of Russia. People scream about Trump being under the influence of Russia, but no one is raising an eyebrow about Biden pushing a missile system to Ukraine that the president was against while his son is being paid $50K a month or whatever? While that may not be an ethical violation, its a political duress situation - for example, demanding a prosecutor going after Burisma to be fired before finding evidence against the company his son works for.

at any rate, what Trump did that he is getting impeached over is not any worse given that he didn't pursue it to the extent Ukraine didn't act on his initial request (assuming he and not Rudi Guliani requested it at all), and he gave Ukraine what they wanted in the missile system.

The genesis of what people claim about Biden started from Joe Biden in his own words below. This is put together with the "fact" also that the fired prosecutor was investigating a company on which his son was on the Board of Directors.
JOE BIDEN, 23 JANUARY 2018: And that is I’m desperately concerned about the backsliding on the part of Kiev in terms of corruption. They made—I mean, I’ll give you one concrete example. I was—not I, but it just happened to be that was the assignment I got. I got all the good ones. And so I got Ukraine. And I remember going over, convincing our team, our leaders to—convincing that we should be providing for loan guarantees. And I went over, I guess, the 12th, 13th time to Kiev. And I was supposed to announce that there was another billion-dollar loan guarantee. And I had gotten a commitment from Poroshenko and from Yatsenyuk that they would take action against the state prosecutor. And they didn’t.

So they said they had—they were walking out to a press conference. I said, nah, I’m not going to—or, we’re not going to give you the billion dollars. They said, you have no authority. You’re not the president. The president said—I said, call him.

(Laughter.)

I said, I’m telling you, you’re not getting the billion dollars. I said, you’re not getting the billion. I’m going to be leaving here in, I think it was about six hours. I looked at them and said: I’m leaving in six hours. If the prosecutor is not fired, you’re not getting the money. Well, son of a bitch. (Laughter.) He got fired. And they put in place someone who was solid at the time.
Sure, I could have stayed in the past. I could have even been king. But in my own way, I am king.
