Trump is "off the reservation" mainly because he is a puppet of Vladimir Putin. Trump was blocked from dropping sanctions early on, but he he's never stopped trying ever since. He needed Ukraine to be the fall guy for 2016 meddling so he could make ANOTHER push for dropped sanctions. Remember Helsinki? "I don't know why they WOULD meddle in our election". Yes you do, you sorry POS. You work for Putin, because he has kompromat on you. Eventually we'll learn exactly what that kompromat is. And key republicans hope that is later rather than sooner.

Case in point: Look at the Kentucky governor's race right now. This repub Belvins (or whatever his name is) is fixin to lose to a democrat. Now I understand that a Kentucky democrat isn't the same as a New York or California democrat, but the point is, Blevins isn't Trump. He sassed teachers and so Crotch and Co. won't vote for him, and this is going to be the case with almost all repub candidates in any state or federal race going forward. Bottom line is, they're not Trump and nobody else is ever going to be, ever (yes, that's two "ever's"). It's like trying to replace Ric Flair with Don Kernoodle. Ain't gonna happen....
Hedge..... don't write too much into this Bevins losing. A month ago, Behsear had a 20+ point lead in the polls. Trump comes to Kentucky to stump for Bevin and look how close it was.... 4000 votes. BTW, every other Republican won except Bevins. Even former Miss America Heather French Henry lost her race. Tried to tell you guys about Bevins...TBH, I'm surprised it was this close considering how angry the Kentucky teachers are at him.

Kind of reminds me of the NC governor race in 2016. Trump won NC, but incumbent R McCrory lost the governorship because he pissed off people over local issues like the toll rd in North Mecklenburg county.

In the Tax Foundation’s just-released 2019 State Business Tax Climate Index, Kentucky moved from 33rd in the nation in the 2018 index to 23rd in the 2019 index, jumping ahead 10 spots and coming much closer in line with our neighboring states.* The Commonwealth’s increased competitiveness is a direct result of tax reform legislation supported by GLI in the 2018 legislative session. “Kentucky adopted revenue-positive tax reform which increases tax collections (primarily to address unfunded pension liabilities) while improving the overall tax structure,” the report states.
they can kiss that goodbye with Beshear - he is going to tax the shit out Kentuckians
Kentucky is more than $54 billion in debt, with estimated unfunded retirement benefits accounting for more than 80 percent of that figure.
Republican Auditor Mike Harmon issued a report on Tuesday detailing the various sources of Kentucky's debt. Pension liabilities were the largest, accounting for $43.3 billion. That's the total number of pension and health insurance benefits Kentucky owes over the next three decades but does not have the money to pay.
About $9 billion is debt supported by state tax dollars, including $3.85 billion for construction projects and $1.81 billion for public universities. About $2.25 billion in debt is supported by bonds, including money for grants, scholarships and student loans.
Harmon says the total debt is more than $12,000 for every person in Kentucky.
But Bevin pissed off the teachers so a fiscally responsible candidate can't be in office. Welcome to Kentucky politics.

Showing that he was totally incompetent when it came to Raleigh politics didn't help. McCrory was Berger's bitch because McCrory doesn't know how to operate in a political world that doesn't involve doing Chamber of Commerce ribbon cuttings as the most important job. McCrory couldn't get out of his own way.
Now, the NC GOP wants to nominate Dan Fucking Forrest. Good God. This son of a bitch is going to lose and lose badly. Once the suburbanites get wind of Dan's beliefs that the earth is 6,000 years old, that there should be a mandatory requirement that Creationism is taught in schools, that homosexuals should not be allowed to marry and the rest of his whack job ultra-conservative evangelical views along with his overall stupidity, the suburbanites will flock to Cooper. Tillis and the Chamber of Commerce-type Republicans are backing the legislator out of Wilmington for a reason. They know Forrest will be a drag on the GOP ticket in NC.
As I have stated previously, Cooper could be a viable presidential candidate in 2024 if Cooper wins reelection and Trump beats an ultra-liberal democrat.

Not sure what poll you were looking at, but according to these various polls, Bevins was ahead in most. And even the one he was behind in (from about 5 months ago), it was only 5 points, not 20+. And then Pres. Cheeto showed up...

Trump is not the reason Bevins lost. Bevin has been in trouble with Kentucky voters for quite some time. He has a habit of talking down to people and saying things like "its none of their business" and "I'm not sorry for what I said about them".
I also think he made a mistake with his platforms. Illegal Immigration is a hot button issue, but Mexicans aren't taking over Kentucky, and abortion is what it is - people aren't going to cross over party lines to vote for or against it in Kentucky - I suspect there aren't that many abortions going on in the state anyways compared to the rest of the country.
What he should have focused on , IMO, is the budget - in particular the hard decisions that have to be made
Beshear's plan is to introduce Casino's to reduce the gap which means he doesn't have a plan, especially given that horse racing's biggest detriment is casino gambling. He might as well say he is going to fund Vodka distilleries while he is at it.

I'm not saying Trump is the reason he lost, but it's not like he was behind 20+ points like Crotch said and that Trump magically brought him right up to the wire...

Not sure what poll you saw, but back in the late spring and early summer, just after Beshear defeated Rocky Adkins for the Dem nomination, Bevin was over 20 points behind. Stayed much that way most of the summer until Trump endorsed him.

The link you posted showed Beshear with an 8 pt lead on 12/12 - 12/15 of last year on the Mason Dixon poll. Beshear wasn't even the Democratic nominee at that time. He was still in a race with Rocky Adkins.
https://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/po ... /kentucky/
As you can see by this link, in October Beshear had a 19 pt lead. Why do you lie, Hedge?

What the fuck is going on with polling in Kentucky? They show the race as a tie by one poll from Oct. 10-13, then another poll with Beshear +19 from Oct. 13-20, then the last poll with Bevin +6. Make up your minds, hilljacks!

Bevins would be re-elected had a libertarian not run and gathered 28K votes. You have to believe that 50% of those people would have still voted and the vast majority would be for the republican
