Related examples of fake news: Ten years ago, Al Gore released "An Inconvenient Truth." In it he predicted that, by now, the earth would be a sauna, would have no Arctic, constant hurricanes, coastal cities would be underwater, all the polar bears would be dead, etc. But the MSM screamed, "It's teh SCIENCE!", accepted it without any scrutiny. It still does.
Unfortunately, none of that global catastrophism turned out to be true. It's all fake news.

Oppo-research composed by a British spy and peddled to politicians of all stripe (McCain turned his docs over to the FBI)..concerning the new leader of the free world..is not newsworthy? And you gotta know BuzzFeed introduced those docs as being material that is unverified and error-filled. That intro is still there if anybody cares to look. :;smh::

FYP
No, it's not. Running a made up story by a partisan political consultant peddled to anybody who would listen is not news-worthy, even if you preface it by a fig leaf life "We can't prove this, but we're reporting it anyway." At least for any reputable news organization. I don't remember the MSM running stories about Hillary being a lesbian, or Vince Foster being murdered, or Webb Hubbell being Chelsea's real father, or a secret drug airfield in Mena Arkansas. That's fodder for the National Enquirer or infowars.
It's all so unnecessary. Trump will always give his critics mountains of real material to work with. No need to stoop to fiction.

Help me out. Didn't Trump quote the National Enquirer by name not long ago...something about Ted Cruz's dad and JFK. Fix my post if I'm wrong about that..

from Michael Isakoff..
The man behind the sensational story concerning information the Russian government had supposedly collected about Donald Trump is a former British intelligence operative and was a longtime intelligence source for the U.S. government who had assisted the FBI during an investigation into corruption by FIFA, the world soccer association, according to sources familiar with the matter.
The operative - identified today by the WSJ as Christopher Steele, a former Russian operations officer for Britain's MI6 intelligence agency - had worked as a consultant for the FBI's Eurasian organized crime section, helping to develop information about ties between suspected Russian gangsters and FIFA, said one of the sources directly familiar with Steele's work.
Steele had been hired originally to investigate Trump by his political opponents, and he decided to share his information with the FBI last year. The preexisting relationship between Steele and U.S. officials is one reason the FBI took the operative's allegations seriously when he first turned over the written dossier, filled with uncorroborated "raw intelligence" about Trump, to one of the bureau's agents in Rome last summer, the sources said.

Of course. But in legitimately criticizing Trump for seriously quoting the National Enquirer, his journalist critics should not themselves become the National Enquirer.

Relax. Nobody believes the pussy-grabber would ever be caught in a compromising situation.
Besides, the Russians have denounced the whole thing as "irresponsible" and "totally untrue."

Breaking
BBC correspondent Paul Wood came forward todaly to reveal that there are multiple intelligence sources alleging Russia is in possession of potentially embarrassing or compromising material regarding President-elect Donald Trump. Formerly only a single source was known to have been aware of the alleged material.
Chelsea Hubbell!!!

Okay. Let him quote the verifying sources, according to standard journalistic practice. And if golden showers are involved, one of those sources must be Larry Flynt.
And everybody knows that Chelsea's real father is Janet Reno, not Webb Hubbell.

I guess National Enquirer journalism is totally en vogue since EVERYBODY is now reporting on the 'kompromat' story.

Cubans tend to be staunch anti-communists and Republicans. Not exactly the Democrats or Obama cup of tea.

Trump already killing jobs:
The Clinton Foundation announced it’s laying off 22 staffers on the Clinton Global Initiative, keeping with a plan to deal with the negative spotlight put on the organization during former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign.
The layoffs will take effect April 15, the Clinton Foundation said in a filing with the New York Department of Labor Thursday, citing the discontinuation of the Clinton Global Initiative. The move is part of a plan put in motion ahead of the presidential election in order to offset a storm of criticism regarding pay-to-play allegations during Clinton’s tenure as secretary of state.

Happy MLK day.
I'm old enough to remember him. I shudder to think of what America would have been like without him.
