It hasn't rained hardly at all here for months until yesterday. So very dry everywhere. Yesterday after lunch it suddenly got windy as hell. 20-30 mph with 40+ gusts in the valley and 30-50 with 80+ in the mountains. It wasn't predicted which is why so many people were still there.

Fires grew big time and blew embers to start others. Then wind blew trees over onto power lines and sparks created more fires. So it kind of sprung up all around the winds got them to grow very quickly.

From the reports I read, 11 people were hospitalized for injuries, but didn't see anything about anyone being killed. It's still bad, but I don't see why you feel the need to embellish the tragedy. Actually, yes I do...
