floating vegetation and animal life I would suspect would be the start of some decomposition capable of supporting plant life to the point that it would in turn become a mulch base for future growth.

In the pictures of the drought here, the first one of the dam looks like Folsom Lake. Idiots were trying to 4wheel it and of course got stuck in the mud. When the Lake was made it covered a town call Mormon town. That could be seen but it's prohibited to go near it. The lake is a little higher now, but nothing like it should be and we are rationed to watering the garden 2 days a week.

damn, how the fuck do you make it to 93 living like that?

That other hermit was never sick a day in his life - living in -20 winter temps , so cold outside he couldn't sleep at night for fear he'd die, with just rotten teeth to show for it

Must be something to it.
