Never used Twitter. Never understood the fascination. Instagram, ask.com & gopro.com are mostly where my daughters post. But im sure there's a few I don't know about. Gonna have to check the history tomorrow. Thanks assholes

Re: MIT Engineers
Twitter is awesome for myriad items...from draft night updates, election night information, article shares and celebrity meltdowns. It's the only social media I engage in. Instagram is a better platform for IRL lying than Facebook.
Also, Zuckerberg is sticking to things because he is arrogant. For every Mark Cuban aligned thinker you have a Steve Jobs. For every Paul Allen you have a Bill Gates.

Yeah, but the majority of Bill Gates' fortune has nothing to do with Microsoft (except indirectly, i.e., the fortune he made off of Microsoft allowed him to invest and make more money than his Microsoft holdings are worth)...

A lot of us wish we could do this
at 87 I have to ask "why?"
I like the stinky pinky but only up to the first knuckle, I do not want a GD thumb up there--I've told her multiple times and I always catch her when she tries to pull a fast one---it's my butthole for Chrissakes I'm gonna know--so cut out the BS.

I think if I make it to 87, I'll be asking "why not?"...

This is the text exchange I had with my CEO/CIO last night at 11pm:
I figured that was passive aggressive enough to get across the point that I it's not like I would tell if I was (and I am...even though I keep saying that every year and they keep doing things that make me stay).CEO/CIO: So you added a picture to your LinkedIn. Dapper.
Me: Thanks. I appreciate the compliment.
C: That was just a veiled "you looking to leave?"
M: Never that, Boss.

Re: MIT Engineers
must be nice to be appreciated.
I'm in that area, but I'm afraid if my boss found a resume of mine online, he'd be proactively looking for a replacement as opposed to trying to negotiate with me to stay.
At this point, as long as I'm fully invested as a team player, I'm taken care of, however as soon as my boss moves on to another job and I'll be on an island which is why I try to stay in tight with any potential future boss.

Re: MIT Engineers
I'm in a niche support role - a direct report to the V.P., but I'd never be considered as a replacement because I don't have any experience running a P&L organization. I like my job and it was a conscious decision to not go that route, but the downside is it leaves me vulnerable when there is a change at the top.Cletus wrote:Why not try to become the future boss?eCat wrote:must be nice to be appreciated.

and yes, to keep this job, you god damn better believe I'll be a suck up if I need to.
